I was poking around at rookie preseason stats today. No one is going crazy through the first few games, although Wiggins and Parker look like they'll put up points. McDermott looks solid too. Elfrid will still need to hustle to get into the top 3.
On a related note, Aaron Gordon has quietly put up decent numbers similar to most of his peers. It's way too early to gloat since he's still lagging behind and the efficiency isn't there, but he doesn't look like the disaster from Summer League.
He's too big and active to ever have a Derek Fisher-esque stat line (0,0,0,0,0 in 30 minutes), but yeah I don't see the decent numbers lasting long once Frye gets back.
McDermott won't play enough during the actual season too.
I think it comes down to Wiggins/Jabari/Elfrid since they have the best combination of talent + minutes played.
Embiid is out. Gordon won't play big minutes. Exum doesn't look like he knows what a basketball is. Smart will play but doesn't look good so far, who knows what happens when Rondo comes back. Randle won't play enough minutes. Stauskas looks okay but in a reserve role. Vonleh kind of... sucks.
