The biggest reasons for the 0-4 Start and poor showings?
I think we should have been better than our record suggests, but we actually are not. Before the season started, I thought we would play better. I am not looking at this from win percentage viewpoint solely. I thought we would play a more coherent style of basketball that is fluid and easier to watch. I am disappointed in that regard. We don't look like a team, we look like good friends playing pickup game.
I don't think this is solely on missing players or Vaughn. I feel like something is missing, but I can not put my finger on. So...what's wrong with us?

From a Zach Lowe article today:
With that said, we seem to make a decent facsimile of it during the first half. Everything falls apart once defenses tighten up.
It’s harder than people might think to play like the Spurs.

It's crazy, we look like a team that's young, inexperienced and lacking in chemistry. Oh.....

Re: The biggest reasons for the 0-4 Start and poor showings?
I think people don't realize what a "new" team this is. With the Dipo and OQuinn injuries, as well as Hark not getting playing time....the ONLY two people who have played together before this year were Vuc and Tobias...and that was basically for only a year. It's going to take time. Four games of meaningful basketball together, guys. Four. Relax. It's a work in progress. The Cavs are 1-2 (and should be 0-3 had Bulls not blow a final minute decent sized lead to them). The Heat started at .500 for their first 20 or so games in their first year of Lebron. We haven't exactly looked like garbage. We have simply had some second half lapses in all four games. We don't look abysmal or anything. There are lots of bright spots.

Re: The biggest reasons for the 0-4 Start and poor showings?
Our core isn't as good as I thought (meaning Harris/Vucevic), our depth has been worse than I figured (O'Quinn hurt and Oladipo out doesn't help). Harris is my biggest disappointment, Harkless not making the rotation my second. I'm actually pleased with Vucevic though I've given up on Harris. Two rookies in the rotation also doesn't help with wins but I'm happy for their development. All in all I think the under on the Vegas line is looking pretty good right now.

Not every thread questioning our team is an overreaction. Sometimes they are just proper reactions.

Wait a minute... You're saying we are not the San Antonio Spurs?
I could've sworn we won a championship last season!

According to the Basketball-Reference, the Magic have faced the second-toughest Strength of Schedule (SOS) in the league so far.
Someone in another thread said Magic opponents are a combined 11-5 so far this season. If that's right, then it's not all that unexpected or alarming to see a team go 0-4 against them. Probability says that an average team facing 11-5 opponents 4 times should lose all four games about 22.3% of the time. Basically it's like flipping heads twice. It's like a .500 team going on a two-game winning streak or a two-game losing streak. In itself, nothing to be concerned about.

Also worth mentioning our starting PG is a rookie. Can other team in the league claim that?

Does it include the games they played us? so they are basically 7-5 against other teams?

If you expect something from this "new" team, you're up for a big disappointment. This young team is capable to play hard but don't know yet how to win a game.

I tried to warn the peeps here before the season to no set their expectations too high.
The result ladies and gentlemen is this:
The realization that this team is a long way from playing well and patience will be required.
I am sure this message will be ignored and more overreaction threads will be posted this year.

I'm just unhappy harkless has been benched so much. I feel his play would have helped us on several occasions. I'm not fond of ridnour or ben gordon, I feel their stylr of play doesnt fit in this system. Plus I miss dipo, miss him every day.

Re: The biggest reasons for the 0-4 Start and poor showings?
I am not surprised one bit. The playoffs were still more of a hope than an actual real possibility for this team. Of course yeah I want this team to make the playoffs but I also realize that we are have not proven we are capable of getting there. Sure potential is great but in the end it doesn't mean much and most of our potential is still more for the future rather than the present as we are a young team. Throw in that Frye and Oladipo are hurt and that doesn't help. Also we have been playing against some pretty good teams. So this isn't a surprise. But also I must say that it is early and there is still time to get better. Not sure we get that much better this year but I still have the same hopes for this team as far as the future goes as I had before the season started.

Not really. We would be 0-4 with him.
This team is not coached very well at all. We looked like the bad news bears last night and adding Victor into the line up will not help at all

can i ask why? Why is Harris the biggest disappointment? I wont stand here and say that Harris is the golden child, but i truly want to understand it. I see Vuc make just as many mistakes as anyone else out there, but he seems to get a pass from everyone. And he was pretty bad last night, yet people want to harp on Harris. I dont here people mentioning all the Payton blocked shots/turnovers, Butler abusing our SG's, Frye a non-factor, etc. It all just seems to fall onto Harris for the reason anything goes bad with the team.
