My friend text me that heard on 740 am radio that Aaron Gordon is out for the year. I can't find any update of this anywhere. Did anyone else hear this???? I'm hoping he's joking.

I heard it too but it was Mike Bianchi who said it and he just said that he thinks it's possible not that he knows. Sounded more like he is guessing after hearing out indefinetly. Dude has no clue.

I was scarred by Grant Hill's tenure with the Magic, too, but this is a completely different situation in two important ways: we didn't draft/sign him injured so hard to fault the team even in worst-case scenarios. Secondly, he's on a rookie contract, not killing our cap room with dead money for six years.

Just have to let him heal up and get back to playing strength.

Internet says these types of injuries take anywhere form 6-12 weeks which means about 2 to 4 months to me.

“It’s been sore,” Gordon said. “It’s been a sore foot. It didn’t really feel like much at all. . . . It was a little bit painful, but it wasn’t anything really at all.”

He walked around with this injury for awhile. To me, this sounds like a hairline fracture. The doctor just suggested orthotics thinking his weight was pushing to the outside of his feet. Mine do that too. So, if it like that and not a complete break, obviously, I would think he will be back in the lower end of that time, 6 weeks or so. I'm guessing January 1.
My 2 cents is worth 5 cents.

Not to minimize Aaron's impact, but I think we are still ahead of the curve getting VO back. He's a starter and Aaron wasn't yet. We really needed VO's ability to attack the rim and defend the opposing guards.

Aaron will be ok later this year and be back strong.

That's why i'd be shocked he'd be out for the year. And a fact he was able to play on it is probably a good sign (though its not a good idea).

He hasn't been playing much NBA games and suffered a broken foot?? What happened? Did he step on somebody's else foot or something? Brittle bones for a 19 year old? I remember KMart and BGriffin missed their rookie season with broken leg but I think they are result of awkward play and yet came back strong. Hope he'll come back a better player and have a better career on this team. It will be painful to see him riding the bench each year due to injury while Exum is flourishing on the other side.

I think with this injury, he's done for the year. Losing him won't be critical to the team's run this season. Let it heal properly and give enough time to recover.

He's not done for the year. His leg is not broken. Fracture. We're not another dimensions Clips with rookie Blake Griffin. He'll be fine. Have a beer. Relax.

Not brittle bones, you just need to land awkwardly after a jump and you have the fracture. You might not notice it as a fracture or a break, just like Aaron describes it, soreness and not really hampering him. He does need to sit out a few weeks to let it heal properly. That's why he's out. He could play, but it's unwise as he could damage it further, full break even.

Like others have said, he'll be fine.

Sometimes, no surgery required. Just set and cast.

I believe he was supposed to see a specialist in charlotte either today or tomorrow, so we should be hearing something soon.
