Tom Ziller and SBNation are just messing around with the trade machine and someone had the bright idea to send Rondo our way for Elf, BG, and Ridnour. I personally say no, but thought I would post anyway.

It's an interesting trade if you're a playoff team, but the Magic are far from a playoff team. Plus, why trade a young PG who can't shoot for an older PG who can't shoot? It doesn't really solve the Magic's offensive problems, in my opinion. Any trade for Rondo is more than likely a rental since he's an UFA at the end of the season and no one really knows where he wants to play. I'm with you, I'd say no. I'd rather roll the dice on Payton one day being a complete player.

Payton can do the same thing as Rondo if he was giving the ability to be the point guard and get the same type of minutes. That trade is trading for the same player you just got rid of.

The Los Angeles Lakers offered the Boston Celtics multiple draft picks and Steve Nash for Rajon Rondo, according to sources.

What draft picks do the Lakers have left? Between the Nash, and Howard trades, I don't think they have a 1st until AFTER the Magic get theirs right?

As far as their own picks they do have a 1st in between the ones they have to give up to Phoenix and us as well. But they aren't allowed to trade those per the rule that you can't trade two consecutive 1st rounders. But they do have the 1st rounder from Houston that they got in the Lin trade. Though it will be a later one so it doesn't have that much value. But I agree they don't have much as they only have that late Houston pick and can't trade one of their own first rounders til 2019 at the earliest(though it would have to have stipulations on it as they owe us a 1st that could conflict with that consecutive 1st rounders rule). But definitely the Lakers do not have a chance at Rondo with that offer.

At the stage our team is in, I wouldn't trade any youth unless we were getting one back.
