A day after firing their coach, the Magic try to avoid losing 11 straight for the second time in three seasons Friday night against a Los Angeles Lakers team on the verge of its first nine-game road losing streak in nearly a decade.

So now I know why the FO waited with firing JV after the Spurs game. Now we have a winnable one and a new era may start with a win so they will look good. Don't you think?

How depressing

LA Times: Lakers have must-lose on Friday against Orlando Magic

As the fourth-worst team in the league, the Lakers would have an 82.8% chance of landing a top-five pick in May's draft lottery. If the Lakers beat the Magic, improving to 14 wins, they would risk falling to fifth -- with just a 55.2% chance of staying in the top five.

Man I am glad the O-Sen does not run this kind of a story.

Id actually prefer the OSen take this approach which is actually quite rational over the trash Schmitz put out about putting Henny on notice etc.

I'm very confident we'll get a win here. And we'll get some more wins this season. I doubt we'll be at the bottom in standings when the season ends. We have too much talent. The rest of the season should be about hope for next season, so I also expect us to decide on a new head coach around the all star break.

I think it's more about the upcoming home stand. If the SA game was @ Orlando I think JV would've been relieved before this game.
