Main reason why Lavine won is because he was able to complete most of his dunks on his first attempt. VO had good dunks but missed them repeatedly which kills all expectations. In closing I would like to see Lavine/Wiggins vs VO/AG and I can see AG vs Lavine for the finals, they got a yr to get there ish together!

LaVine is unreal.

Who would you rather take: LaVine or Gerald Green?

Just found out right now, Green has an amputated ring finger on his right hand. That's ridiculous.

Prime Green or Prime LaVine? Now, that's going to be a fun comparison when the time comes.

I think people are unfairly knocking lavine for his creativity. The theme of his dunks was supposed to be honoring the last Timberwolf to win the dunk contest. Rider won 20 years ago by inventing the eastbay funk. Of course Lavine went under his legs more than once.

Check out this videos online and you can see he has more in his bag of tricks.

I didn't know it was a tribute...but I liked how lavine did variations of it...heck I liked how both guys were doing variations of the same dunks.... Lavine is just nasty...

Didn't come across that way in the slightest. If he wants to pay tribute, work it into the routine.

Even so, I couldn't care less about the last Timberwolf to win it. I just wanted to see the awesome stuff I've seen in his Vines.

At least the first two dunks were great.

This is a good point, almost like variations on a musical theme. I think I was just pumped up to see more from LaVine so I was left feeling a little disappointed. Same with Oladipo obviously. The first round was sweet but the second round was a letdown.

Love Oladipo, but he doesn't have the hangtime to pull that off on the spot.

Yeah unless Rider was in Space Jam, which I don't recall, I don't buy Lavine was trying to honor him the whole night. Maybe he watched a video and thought of ways to improve a dunk, but there was no tribute being paid. He would have worn a Rider jersey or something if that was the case.

I'd say it's pretty close. LaVine had a better contest performance but I'm not sure he gets up higher than Green.

LaVine did the same thing. Green had much better ideas.

Overall, I enjoyed the show. Plumlee and Giannis were terrible but Oladipo and LaVine more than made up for the duds. I mean, Dipo's other jams were pretty weak but his "540" was flat out amazing and I was happy just to have that. LaVine was great.

There was really nowhere to go but up after last year's disgrace.
