i don't think his rank as a C matters much, as it's more to do with where he ranks as a top 2 option on a team (which is what he is right now). if Vuc isn't being used at the level he currently is, and if he were more a #3 or #4 option, then his offensive input doesn't pull as much weight and his defense/rebounding is all that matters. how good he'll be on defense remains to be seen.

Even as a Top 2 offensive option, though, he'd rank pretty highly for me. I'd take him over anyone that's Green, would consider taking him over anyone that's Orange, but definitely wouldn't take him over anyone that's Red. I only count 11 teams with two superior Top 2 options already, and 14 with at least 1 superior option. Some of the orange maybe guys are either too old (despite maybe being better right now), or are too young but still have big upside, and that's what would give me pause.

Cousins and Hayward should be in red, or at least orange for Hayward.
Jackson in orange, Drummond in green (can't even shoot 40% FT)
I don't understand how you have Russell in orange, but Okafor in green. Jahlil is a much better scorer than Russell.
I would probably take him over Rose as well, he's been terrible lately. Same for Deron.
Lopez in orange.

yeah, it's all completely just my opinion.

i still think Cousins' is just too much hassle to want to build a team around. he's in Orange because i think Vuc is fairly close to him offensively (not as good defensively, but hasn't blatantly taken plays off the way Cousins has in the past), and Vuc gets extra credit for stability.

Hayward really isn't a top 2 option guy. he's a #3 wing with a similar impact to Manu or Pierce, but nooooooowhere near as good.

Jackson could be good, but right now he's certainly not better than Vuc. Drummond is in orange because he's got the potential to be a two-way player.

Okafor is in green because, IMO, he projects to be an offense only guy, but he hasn't shown he can do that just yet. Vuc has. Russell is in orange because i can see Steph Curry/Brad Beal potential in him, and if he can reach those levels i'd take him over Vuc.

Deron, i agree with you, i've just got him down in case a change of scene reignites his passion and we see some vintage Deron again. Rose is in red because i still think he can find form, but i can completely understand your view.

Lopez is shite, and an injury risk.

Yeah I saw that today and I think they did a good job with the rankings. Gasol and Cousins are definitely 1 and 2, but there are definitely a handful of guys after that who are very good and could pretty much be ranked tied, and that's where I put Vuc. It really comes down to personal opinion with them, it's not as clear cut obvious as Gasol and Cousins are.

2K has it right. He's definitely in the 5-9 range as much as people wanna downplay him and wish for someone else just because they're on another team.

This is common around here. People always want a player from another team because he does something different than our guy.

Assuming everyone is 100% healthy, for me personally you can rank him anywhere from 6-10

You've got the top two-way guys - Cousins, Marc Gasol, Al Horford, Dwight Howard, Tim Duncan. That they strongly impact the game at both ends (even if Cousins will occasionally take plays completely off) automatically puts them ahead of Vuc.

After that, it becomes a matter of team make-up, style of play and preference. If you have an offensive minded PF who doesn't play much D, you will want defense and rebounding from your centre first and foremost, so guys like Drummond and DeAndre Jordan would probably rank ahead of Vuc. If you were a team who already had shot blocking and rim protection from your power forward, then I imagine you would take Nikola next.

Not sure if I would pick Drummond or Lopez over him but you could certainly make that argument. Regardless, he is definitely Top 10.

In theory, you would swap Howard for Vucevic by the trade deadline to improve our playoff chances?

And by a show of hands, how many of you guys
will trade TH12 and *gulp* Oladipo for LB23 by trade deadline? We could possibly win a championship this year!

Hennigan are you listening? Lol

The centers primary job is to protect the rim but, oh man, our center is so wet from midrange (sigh)

Even though Skiles is a gung-ho defensive coach, I don't see any scenario where that could possibly happen outside of an injury issue.

He'd foul out every other game unless his minutes were limited.

Rudy Gobert is the 4th best center in the NBA? I would like some of what the OP is smoking.
