Magic Ticket Packages

Post#1 » by Smitty731 » Fri Sep 18, 2015 1:16 pm

Not sure if this was posted already. If so, I apologize.

The Magic continue to be really smart with offering some cool ticket packages. They are again doing the Fall pass where you can get all the home games through November for 89 bucks. All 4 preseason and then the first 10 regular season games. The teams are WAS, OKC, TOR, LAL, UTA, MIN, SAC, NYK, MIL, and BOS.

They also are offering packages for weeknight games, weekend games, and a limited season ticket package (basically you get every game except for the top teams in the league).

Really good and innovative thinking by the team to drive sales. And as a basketball fan, I appreciate the options!

I bought the fall plus plan. Great deal considering it would probably cost $90 just to go to the Laker game.
I'm looking foward to the Milwaukee game and the Minnesota game, so much young talent

There is one package that is $69. If I wasn't studying for CPA exam I would do it.

They vary from game to game. Some upper bowl, some lower bowl. My guess is the bigger teams like Lakers, Thunder, Knicks, etc will be uppers, and the Jazz, Wolves, Kings, etc will be lowers

They move you around from game to game. We had it last year. Only once where we way up high. And even then we were at midcourt.

I highly recommend the pass for any fan. Well worth it.

They didn't last year. My guess is this is the marketing team getting you hooked by bringing you in early. Last year we got hit up towards the end of our pass about season tickets a few times. They were going to let us apply the money we spent on the pass towards the tickets too.

A lot will depend on how the team is playing. If they are playing well and in the mix for the playoffs, there won't be any kind of deals later in the year. If they aren't, you can get good deals as the season winds down. I saw some games in March and April for cheap and that was through the Magic/NBA supported secondary market.

Picked up a fall pass for 74 bucks. 12 games, one hell of a price.

When my wife and I bought the fall fast pass last year, more often than not we were pretty high up. They definitely got me on a few upgrades. After I bought an upgrade or two, I never had lower bowl seats "randomly" again.

Had fun though.

Can someone explain to me how this system works where they text you the ticket or whatever?

Did anyone have it last year?

I had it last year and again this year. About 15-30 minutes before the game, you get a text that says your seats are ready. Then you log in to the app and the tickets are there. Then you just go in through the gates like normal. Most games they had a special line set up for those who had the tickets on their phone and we breezed right through.

A few times the tickets came like an hour before, but that was very rare.

You can upgrade these tickets, but you need to wait until they are assigned. Or you can go to the box office window and do it ahead of time. I recommend waiting, because you might end up with good seats anyway.

For example, the one time we considered upgrading was the first Heat game. Oddly enough, those ended up being our best seats of the year. We were lower bowl, behind the Magic bench about 15 rows up. When we looked up the prices, those are usually 150 dollar seats.

So, while upgrades weren't a guarantee, we did regularly end up with really good seats. And even in the upper bowl, we tended to be in the lower section near the middle of the court. And for roughly 10 bucks a game, you can't really complain.

I just do the scalper thing last minute when I go to games. I had been lucky getting lower bowl near mid court for $50 a pop when I show up less than 15 minutes before game time.
