So Who Will You be Supporting?

Post#1 » by EAS Law » Tue Mar 29, 2016 12:27 am

Since we've been eliminated from possible Playoff contention, of the teams that are likely to make the Playoffs this year, which team are you going to be rooting for?

Not asking who you believe will win the title, but who would you LIKE to win the title and why?

I would love to see the Hornets win it all. They've been one of my favorite teams since they Charlotte got an NBA team back, back when they were the Bobcats. Kemba is one of my favorite players since college. I like that it's a small market, I want most small market teams to be successful.

For the West, defnitiely the Thunder and Clippers. I love KD, and Paul is one of my all time favorite players.

Im pulling for the Blazers. A great underdog story that would make it sweeter the further they got. They are my surprise team of the year and Terry Stotts is my COTY(behind Skiles of course) and CJ my MIP. Good team that is the symbol of hustle and grit. Lillard is a all star to me but the rest of those guys have stepped up. CJ blew out of nowhere and is proving his worth. Would love to have him here.

Warriors as that would validate a historical year
Basketball is driven by three principles:

1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability

The Clippers are typically considered to be an unlikable team, but JJ Redick is my favorite player of all time, so for his sake I would like to see them do well.

But with that said, I don't really care.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

After that, Miami Heat!

Warriors...when the Magic are out of it, I always root for history to be made. Pulling for them to break the bulls record and dominate the playoffs. Extremely interested to see if Curry possesses a higher gear that he'll shift in to for the playoffs. If he does...that is something I want to see. No player is more fun to watch...so I am rooting for him to play well.

I've pulled for the Warriors the last 3 years just because they're a lot of fun to watch and Steph is a flamethrower. But this year, I'm pulling for the Thunder. I'd like to see KD win one in OKC and get that monkey off his back. Also have to root for Billy D.

I want to see the Spurs win and see those guys ride off into the sunset like bosses.

Great responses. Some thoughts:

I only neglected to include a lot of the East teams because I only get 10 choices

I'm torn between the Spurs and Warriors out West. I'd also love to see GS make history, but I'm a sucker for the old greats being able to ride out on a high note. Plus, both teams play a beautiful game.

I can't root for OKC simply because I'm selfish. If they win, there is an absolute 0.000% chance Westbrook or KD join new teams (like the Orlando Magic of course), so until they resign with OKC I cannot root for them.

East, as much as I loathe the entitled, cocky attitude that Cavs fans have rediscovered, I figure they may as well just win a GD championship already. I'm tired of hearing about it.

I'd be happy to see virtually any of the others win it out East, but I think I'm going for Toronto. They have great fans that LOVE the game and they support their Raptors no matter what. Maybe I should post this on the GB and get a bunch of And1s lol.

Really looking forward to seeing what WE do this offseason fellas. Thanks for your thoughts.

you missed an option of none. Since Magic arent in it, i have no interest and do not care who wins the title.

For me, the worse the Clippers and the Hawks do, the greater chance either team would consider trading their stay PFs. For the Clippers, I guess I am the routing for a 1st round exit.

But with that said, I don't really care.

Indeed.

And, if they do bad and trade their PF's, the chances they trade them to the Magic are pretty much slim to none. Thus, that is a poor way to root for a team to lose just so they can trade their star player somewhere else.

Let the Warriors establish a dynasty for the next 5 years. Silence those NBA retirees who are envious of their winning ways. I want Steph to win consecutive MVP's & Finals MVP and to shoot the ball unconventionally and keep making them to prove shooting mechanics is not about the form. It's about believing you can make those shots.

Warriors have Varejao right? I can't support them then. Probably spurs or grizz
Favorite Magic players of all time:
1. Dennis Scott
2. Andrew Nicholson
3. Anthony "no-neck" Johnson

I picked the hawks because if they can get it done, I feel we are built kinda like the hawks with no straight up superstar. That gives me hope with us
