The whole Triangle comment was made with the possibility of Shaw joining the staff. Since he's now in LA, it's all a moot discussion.

With Houston deciding on Pringles, we should get official word any day on what Griff decides to do; Minny or us.

Inside rumblings, like someone else earlier said, is that's he's headed to Minny. We'll see.

Rockets finalizing deal with D'Antoni, I posted Woj tweets in around the league thread. I'd like to see Adrian stay with Frank and I also wonder if Frank could persuade Borrego or Stephen Silas to also join his staff?

Larry Bird: "Dan Burke has been the one running our defense."

I wonder how true it is. If it is, our assistant hires need to be home runs.

So Vogel was promoted to head coach and kept his job for another 5 years due to his... offense?
Sounds like BS to me. With Bird's 3 year rule Vogel would have been fired quickly if he wasn't responsible for the defense. If Burke was the mastermind and he was "running" their defense he wouldn't be stuck as an assistant for them the past 20 years...

A more generous interpretation of Bird's comment is that he hopes Burke can continue running Vogel's defense, even with another HC running the show. Personally I don't think that's how it works, but oh well. As far as we know, Vogel did delegate the defense to Burke, but everything he did emphasizes defense first, for example Lavoy Allen starting a big chunk of games despite stinking it up, or Jordan Hill getting benched despite being our best (only) post scorer. I have no doubt in my mind that Orlando will be a top 5 or higher defense next season. Not taking bets on the offense though :P

I was hoping we'd be able to get Blatt as lead assistant but he's heading to Europe. Still hope for Griff and/or Vanterpool.

Any updates or leads? :dontknow:

Is Griffin staying?

If Rambis doesn't stay on Hornacek's staff, would be be worthy looking at as an assistant?

Don't think he's a very good coach at all tbh.. plus he's been an assistant of some very weak teams. I hope we keep Griff.

Also Griffin IS still in Orlando, saw him like some Tweets of people saying they met him at work and spoke to him.

@ESPNSteinLine: Oklahoma City is closing in on a deal to hire Adrian Griffin as an assistant coach for Billy Donovan's staff, according to league sources.

@ESPNSteinLine: Adrian Griffin has been a contender for numerous head coaching posts in recent years, including Orlando after Scott Skiles' departure.

defensive coach, great player's coach. All of our players loved him, all of the Bulls' players loved him, and I'm sure OKC players will love him.
