Really not a fan of this move. Last year I thought Drew was one of those guys who deserved more playing time.

Cautiously optimistic about seeing what we do with the cap space though!

He's one of the very few who could actually score on this team w/o a pick and roll.

Not a bad player at all, the problem is he usually needed 15 seconds to get into his offense and it wasn't always on .. but when it was, he was really fun to watch. Would rather see him on a team that can use him correctly.

Drew's post game reminds me a bit of Kevin McHale back in the day. Very crafty. The kid can score. I wish him well wherever he goes.

I kind of wish we'd keep him. I mean, the dude's a pretty decent player.

He made Vucevic look athletic. He was decent last year but I'll be surprised if he is still in the NBA in 4 years

what a joke, this guy is going to be a good player for a smart team

I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

If my math is right (might not be), we would have still been able to offer a max even with Nicholson's QO using up some of our cap. I guess this means that Henny believes that he will have use for more than a max contract's worth of cash?

In other words, this is a sign that if we don't spend big this summer, it will be because nobody wanted our money, not because Henny was deliberately saving it for next year.

Or am I just trying to read too much into these tea leaves?

Magic Won't Extend Qualifying Offer To Andrew Nicholson

NBA Rumor Central: Andrew Nicholson's days with Magic likely over

The Orlando Magic can make forward Andrew Nicholson a restricted free agent, if they tender a qualifying offer worth $3,394,726 by June 30. According to ESPN.com's Zach Lowe, the Magic will not make him a qualifying offer, so Nicholson will enter the market as an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

Nicholson, the No. 19 pick in the 2012 NBA draft, has spent all four years with the Magic and this past season played in 56 games and averaged 6.9 points and 3.6 rebounds.

The Magic could offer him a contract, but that is unlikely. Nicholson is low-tier free agent, so he may not land an NBA deal until sometime in August. There is also a chance he could look at options overseas as a way to make more money.

From his clunky feet to his droopy eyes, Uncle Drew was a fan favorite for his savvy "Hakeem-like" low post moves and 3 point attempts, that you just KNEW were going to go in anytime he took a shot!

No one can ever forget the awkward way he played the game...

Image

Or the looks on his face where you couldn't tell if he was happy, sad or mad...

Image

Or the way he played defense...

Image

...and most of all, we won't forget the GREATEST reaction to being drafted by the Magic OF ALL TIME!

I wanted you back buddy... but I guess a new chapter begins for you big guy! Best of luck!

Side note: Somebody drive to dr3's house and check if he's ok.

Vaughn, Borrego and Skiles did not play him as much as we thought, so there has to be something behind the scenes going on there. That, and he was obviously a liability at certain times on the court.

It's hard to tell because there's been no indication of whether or not the Magic gave a crap about bringing him back in the first place. If they did, then we could say that this is a sign that we're wanting to have every dollar available to us that we can.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.
