I wish I could say this sounds made up by riley to up dragic's value, but considering how badly management has messed up our rebuild in the past year I really can't shoot it down. It could be completely true. Henny's job is on the line and it wouldn't be surprising if he was ready to hit every panic button on the way out. What would be surprising is trading for a 30 year old offense-only pg after going all in on payton six months ago... and thinking that will fix biyombo as a starter, our crap bench players and vogel's weak coaching.

It's Stein. He doesn't report bull.

Actually Stein has a pretty sketchy track record not least reporting that the Magic, Kings and Lakers were locked in on Cousins / Vuc / 2nd pick in the Towns draft. This was denied pretty quickly by all three teams.

I'd put him in that bracket well below Woj alongside guys like Howard Beck.

That would be a disaster (vuc to miami deal), move Ibaka for a raps package of Poetl/ross and move on, play the young guys and see where the chips lay at the end of the season.

I just don't get the point of that trade. It's completely devoid of any logic. It's 100% desperation. Trading a 26 year old big guy (however flawed he might be) in his prime and a potentially talented young asset (1st rounder) for a soon to be 31 year old PG who you would need to give the starting role over developing your own young and talented PG.

Basically, if you want to move Vucevic, it's completely fine. But there must be far better deals out there.

If theyre trading any of our core guys then trade them all and just tank. Theres no reason to bring in a 31 year old PG that just solidifies us as a treadmill team.

Trade oladipo and first for ibaka...
Trade vuc and first for dragic...
Trade gordon and hezonja for millsap...

Ibaka and Millsap walk this summer... Dragic demands a trade next season... Biyombo finally learns how to catch a basketball in 2020. #PureMagoc.

I wish Hennigan would stop handing out first round picks like they're candy.

Lots of failed moves and signings over the past year on top of a failed rebuild in general. Now with the season likely lost at the midway point you know something is going to happen soon. I think it's probably appropriate for fans to bring out the pitch forks and voice their opinions at this point. Last thing we need is one last desperation move. Focus on setting up the next general manager for success not failure.

It's scary, because you'd expect Riley to eventually accept that deal, right? If nothing better comes along. Because he can just keep the 1st rounder and trade Vuc again for more stuff. The kind of stuff we should be trading Vuc for.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

He isn't even that flawed. He is a very underrated defender, good rebounder, good post scorer, good passer and good shooter. He doesn't get to the line is pretty much his biggest problem.

And on top of that, we would give up a future first lol. A first that very well could be the #1 pick in the future. :banghead:

Glad the Heat rejected it. But they are kind of stupid for rejecting it. Sure you don't need Vuc with Whiteside there, but you just flip Vuc later on. I would have taken that future first from a bad team and ran away with it. Essential trading Dragic for a top 5 pick in the future...

My guess is the pick is heavily protected making the biggest asset of the trade Voch and the Heat don't really need him. Thats just my guess. I can't figure any other reason they would turn that trade down.

Agreed, probably the 1st has a lot of protections, that's why they didn't accept it.

As for the deal, I wouldn't trade Vuc for Dragic alone, imagine adding a 1st to it. Vuc is one of our players in our team that is at least above average for his position.
