It's not that crazy and very possible.

8-)

If I had a way to get to Vegas, I'd definitely bet $100 on the over. Will gladly ride this bus by myself, lol.

It's nice seeing some optimism on this board for once. But all the negative Nancy's are gonna try to put you down. I'm sure you're aware of this since you've been here awhile. I'm not sure I see 40 wins, but I'll take the over on the updated one. I can see 35-37 wins.

34.5 is more reasonable, especially with Simmons.

So lemme get this straight, people would rather pick the under at 34.5 than the under at 40.5? You people should stay out of Vegas...

Yea I was scratching my head at that. In the poll there should only be one under option. I'm editing this post because I saw Bensational's reasoning for multiple under options on the previous page. I guess the people choosing under 34.5 are the major pessimists of the lot.

Yea I was scratching my head at that. In the poll there should only be one under option. Who in their right mind would vote under 34.5 when they can get a 6 win cushion and do under 40.5?

I think by voting under 40.5 you're supposed to be saying you think they will win more than 34.5, but less than 40.5. Anyway, this is why I was saying there should have only been three choices as the double unders and overs are just going to confuse people. Oh well... this thread was doomed the moment vegas randomly put us at 40.5 and immediately changed it.

NBA2K SIM puts Magic dead last.
https://orlandomagicdaily.com/2017/07/15/nba2k-helps-predict-2017-18-orlando-magic/8/

Overall Record: 28-54

It is over. The long, painful 2K season for the Magic has come to a merciful end.

The Magic finished with a 28-54 record. That is good enough for the fourth-worst mark in the league. Orlando’s offense was second-worst in the league (100.4 points per game) and their defense was the eighth-worst at 107.3 points allowed per game.

Although he did not make an All-Rookie team, Isaac stood out on the Magic. For a team that struggled as bad as it did, Isaac was probably the lone bright spot, even with Vucevic’s strong stretches.

The team’s scoring title was a tie between Vucevic and Fournier, who averaged 14.1 points per contest. Vucevic won the battle on the glass too. Payton led the team in assists with 6.5 per game.

For those wondering, the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals in five games.

Simmons (and hopefully Birch) will mean the Magic is incapable of being terrible. That is something!

I totally agree. Right now I can see no other path for the Magic's record than this. And 36-38 wins "might" be enough for the 8-seed in an awful East. It certainly has the Magic no worse than 10th.

Imagine how much money has been coming in taking the under on the Magic to keep driving that number down.

I think we're in a 30-39 win range. If we show some more effort and cohesiveness, we might be a playoff team assuming you believe 35 or 36 wins gets you the 8th see in the East.

Vegas has the Magic at 36.5 coming in to last season (2016/17), and I see this roster as better than last year's. I really like the over at 34.5. And with the number floating down to 33.5 at some betting houses, I am in love with that over.

The East has gotten weaker when the Magic is stronger.

Seriously: short of a major injury, how does this Magic win less than 36 games?

Didn't we have similar expectations last season; And the season before that? I've learned not to trust what the team looks like on paper.

We are heading to a 25-30 wins this season. Do not put your hopes so high again. Any games we can win on top of 30 will come in April

Do you think this year's roster is better or worse than last years? Do you think Coach Vogel is a better coach than former-coach Skiles? Do you GM Hammond is better than former-GM Hennigan?

To me Orlando is taking a lot of little improvement steps. Do those equate to wins? We will see.

external changes matter as well . East got worst and lost more starts to West. There are only two good teams on whole East with few teams who are looking for tank ( Bulls, Hawks, maybe Pacers ) and always terrible Nets.

So: Orlando is getting better when most direct opponents are getting worse. This sounds like a recipe for an increasing win total.
