Why don't we have one of these? Looks like the old one was closed due to reaching its page count limit.

Too many random topics have to be made instead of keeping a general thread for smaller topics. For example, I'd like to see more of this level of aggression from Paolo when driving into the paint:

Thanks for creating the thread thelead. Agree with you regarding Paolo increasing that aggression when attacking the paint.

What is everyone thinking about the 6 game home stand? I’m thinking 3-3. The team tends to play up a bit on those road trips. 6-0 works for me too though.

I'm going to say 4-2

Raptors - W
Nuggets - L
Celtics - L
Hornets - W
Wiz - W
Wiz - W

A very optimistic outcome. I wish it would be so but i have a feeling it would be 3-3.

After that high we had in clobbering IND, we come down to earth in a grind out game against rhe Raps. Then adversity in a 3 game losing streak....

Ww hopefully make it back up against CHA and WAS

Interesting home stand..If we can start to always win the ones we should and "steal" an upset a couple times a month, that'll be the sign of growth. We've GOT to smash Washington twice for starters. Raptors would be a good win...not thinking we'd be favored, but if we keep handling our biz, we'll be favored later in the year for sure.

A lower ranked CHA winning a highly charged OT game against an aspiring champ BOS? Jist before we face them?

Yeah... CHA will be confident and BOS will ve pissed when they face us. Tsk tsk

One at a time. Do not overlook and do not get scared. Anything can happen but if we play the way we are supposed to, I am feeling good about every game on the schedule.

Do we play back to back to back now?

Celtics play Bucks before us, that's a good thing.

The ESPN computers really don't like the Magic. At 8-5, it states the Magic should lose to the 15th best team by -1.7.
That would have the Magic as the 21st best team.

ESPN NBA BPI ranking

BTW: Orlando actually has the 8th best point differential in the NBA at +2.7. I guess consistent winning on the road isn't valued.

We've probably had the hardest schedule so far with all the miles we've traveled on the West Coast trip.

It's a bad week for the Celtics when they have to face us twice.

Last year we were the canary in the coals mines for Boston.

That's wild that a model would have us 11th in the East.

Edit: this model uses preseason expectations as a prior. That means it will slowly adjust to in season performance. We already have it bumping us up to the 37 to 44 win range, which is a nice bump considering where Vegas was to start the season.

For me, one of the lessons from our recent strong play is that we need to consider Suggs as our starting PG. I know it's not the prettiest thing in the world, but Suggs + almost any solid vet SG seems to be clearly better than Suggs + Black/Fultz at this point based on how little we're getting offensively from both Black and Fultz.

More to the point, I want to see more Suggs + Harris backcourts so we can get a feel for how Suggs can handle the role at this point in his career. If we can live with him there, that would open up the SG trade market for us instead of having to limit ourselves to looking for a PG.

Same sentiment here. Better to know what we have and later on look for an upgrade in SG. We can live with Suggs as PG since ball handling duties is evenly divided in this team.

Across two man lineups (from NBA.com) and taking a weighted average net rating by mins shows Goga is making quite the impact.

Goga 15.33
Harris 11.29
Ingles 10.10
Isaac 9.66
Black 2.76
Suggs 1.70
Fultz 1.42
Franz 1.34
Paolo -0.60
Cole -1.19
WCJ -1.93
Moe -2.89
Jett -9.03
Caleb -16.10
Okeke -18.38
Schofield -50.50
