Holland I like the idea of Hedo for Harpring and Millsap, We need the toughness that these two bring I wouldn't know if Utah would do it but I would.

I wouldn't mind trying to get Landry from the Rockets who seem to be having a hard time getting a contract started same with DWest from the Cavs a nice backup point can start if Nelson gets hurt he may want to much though. Bogans to Portland for Diogu as a small deal it would give Portland a 2nd or 3rd string two guard, We get a 4 who can start but likely a backup, is injury prone but can rebound and hit a jumper. 76ers need a shooter JJ or Bogans some way to get Evans we would have to add to match salaries.

I like Harping too, but Korver would add some more scoring off the bench, with Lee, Johnson, Battie and Bogans (?) as the defensive subs already. Also some three point shooting will be maintained after the loss of Hedo.

Landry and West are solid, I just don't see how we'd get them. Bogans for Diogu would be OK, I don't expect anything from Diou but he'd be a better fit then Bogans right now. Evans to me is tough one, the rebounds are definately nice but he's such a black hole on defense. Dwight needs someone next to him that can at least make a jumper from the top.

True, Korver would give the bench a nice scoring punch, I think Utah played better when they got Korver he opened the floor for Boozer and DWill to work.

I don't know how to get those two either but I wouldn't mind having them. I agree Evans is like a Bo Outlaw or Ben Wallace a hustler with little offensive game, I would like a player like a Villanueva or Troy Murphy minus the contract next to Dwight even Kurt Thomas would be ideal. I don't remember what thread it was in but someone mentioned a Hedo for Fyre-Webster trade, that would give us a nice complement 4 next to Dwight and a young scoring 3 to back up Lewis.

i like frye on this team he can hit an outside shot, not sure of his contract but would fit well here throw in webster and maybe a 2nd rounder id do it. Coming to the conclusion that hedo most likely will not be here next year might as well get what we can while his value is the highest it prob ever will be.

Delonte West would be BYC then, and the trade would not meet CBA salary matching requirements.

Chicago sends Orlando Ced Simmons+Cash or 2nd rounder and takes our TPE...

Lewis/Battie*/Simmons/Cook
Dwight/Battie*/Gortat/Foyle

pretty formidable front court...Battie alone will help boost our low post defense, Simmons is another BIG athletic kid who can block shots and box out for boards, he's extremely strong and is a defensive specialist, one of the top defenders in the 2006 draft class...I feel that with about 10mins + a game, he can make a big impact...

we then move Cook, JJ or Bogans for our 3rd PG and we're set...

Thats a good look in the frontcourt.

Id even just keep Cook around for Rashard Insurance since he is the only one with the threat of spreading the floor for Dwight if we needed and Rashard wasnt available. Trade JJ for a 3rd PG. Bogans at least can defend two positions and also shoot the three.

They are trying to move Ridnour along with Wilcox. I'd love to have Ridnour as our back-up PG. His salary makes it difficult, though...

I was thinking of a similar trade because that would give us a very quality rotation of young players coming off the bench, but do you think Portland would bite at that? In all honesty I think that trade would help both teams because Portland would be getting an all around player to place in the front line with Aldridge and Oden and the Magic would get an up and coming back up forward and guard in Rodriguez and Webster and a starter in Frye. I just don't think Portland would want both Bogans and JJ because they would be stacked at SG like we are if they had Roy, Fernandez, JJ, and Bogans. I'd say pull out JJ and put in like Brian Cook.
Lets go Magic!!!

this gives Orlando 3 SF

Lewis/Outlaw/Webster

Frye is Cook with less range and slightly better rebounding...if given the same minutes, these 2 are a wash IMO...so this really doesnt do much for our FC rotation as I am assuming you trade Hedo to move Lewis to the 3 and start Battie at the 4, no?

Battie/Frye/Cook
Dwight/Gortat/Foyle

not horrible, but not impressive either...

Rodriguez I like...

after much consideration, I believe that the lineup needs to stay the same, the only change should be obvious, that is MP starting in place of Evans/Bogans...We were so effective last season with that lineup, that I just dont see it as a bright move, even with Battie's attributes. While I see Battie as a capable starter, I believe that having him as a first reserve guy for Lewis or Dwight is going to be a much bigger asset that having him start. While guys are putting their sub bigs in, Orlando will be essentially supplementing with another starting big. Battie's leadership, know how and ability will tighten up out bench production and we wont have such a dramatic shift in bench % when Dwight is off the court...

Seems like it's in-line with my thoughts all along. Except mine is a gut feel and yours has experience, logic and reasoning behind it ;-)

I'll jump on that bandwagon...we did create a ton of matchup issues last season and there just aren't that many big PF bangers anymore like in the 80's and 90's. With Battie back it will help us deal with those few teams who still have a big front line. I can't wait for opening night.

I was thinking Webster could play a little SG... It would make us very deep.

As for the trade, I did it because 1. I think Portland is a willing trade partner for Hedo. 2. I really like Outlaw, and I think Webster is about to blow up. 3. I also like Rodriguez. I wonder if they would do a minor deal so that we can get Sergio. Maybe the TPE?
