OT: Allan Houston Re-signed

Post#1 » by glennathan » Thu Sep 25, 2008 7:52 pm

Wow on this. I did not expect him to get resigned anywhere. The knicks must be trying to rebuild the 1999 team. I read somewhere Chalres Oakley tried to come back as well. And they alos got Patrick Ewing Jr.

I love this.. I know I'm probably the only one, but Alan Houston was one of my favorite players back in the day... back when the knicks were a real team. And i know the odds are Houston won't do anything, but I'm rooting for him!

I loved watching Allan Houston play... I loved the game winner and the excitement the Knicks had when he ran up the court after he won the decisive game 5.

Man, Charlie Ward/Allan Houston/Latrell Sprewell/Larry Johnson/Patrick Ewing with Chris Childs, Marcus Camby, Kurt Thomas.. That was a good team..

Is he guaranteed a spot on the team, or is this just for the preseason? Because he had a similar situation last season IIRC and he ended up not making the final roster.

Good luck to him either way.

houston was signed to the team. the knicks were hoping marbury could be bought out and could convince jerome james to retire. if houston does not make the team he is staying in a front office position, possibly shooting coach.

^^Wait, so which is it? You just said he was signed to the team, but then said if he doesn't make the team...

So I'm assuming you mean he doesn't have a guaranteed contract?

The Knicks don't need trades. They need time. Time to wait and get rid of those nasty contracts.

kniocks should pull a hawks and let their big roll players with long contracts just expire w/o signing any stars in the mean time...once all the contracts are off the books...get lebron, wade, and bosh on the team to multi year max contracts surrounded by roll players.

Houston was signed but could be waived due to Marbury not leaving and jerome james not retiring. He has a contract but just like Marbury he could be waived. dont know if that clears things up any.

I wish Allan Houston the best. I'm sure he can still shoot...how much of a liability will he be on defense?

He should have tried to get on with a team like the Spurs. The Knicks are always going to be a disaster.

Best of luck to him, but this is more of a grandstand move for the fans......
