I wonder if we're looking into this?
I read somewhere that Mcdyess isn't necessarily a lock to go back to the Pistons and if someone had the MLE or a large TPE to offer he would likely go to said team.
I'm thinking that this could be a good use of the TPE, possibly the best available use of it.
So first... What do you think about bringing Mcdyess in with the TPE?
Secondly, if not him who would you want us to use that TPE on this year?

Actually Otis Smith has already said that the Magic are not interested in McDyess and he said that and soon as this came up.

Asked if they had reached out to McDyess' camp Magic General Manager Otis Smith quickly shrugged off the possibility Thursday, underlining how any such trade or deal set up to accommodate what's left on his two--year contract would rub up against the luxury tax.
"If I help get South Florida into the tournament, then 20 years from now when South Florida is ranked No. 1 in the country, people will look at the history and say, 'Dominique Jones started that program.'"

Okay so what are we going to do with that trade exception then?
Doesn't it have to be used this year?

Probably nothing, unless an absolute, 100% 'Can't say no' deal came up.

It's pretty obvious despite claiming to not care about spending, the owners do care about spending.
Signing McDyess would be huge.

Guys, you can't use a TPE to sign a free agent.
So don't freak out when Otis doesn't do it.

I kind of, sort of despise McDyess. He gets all pissed because Dwight plays physical. I wish we did sign him so that Gortat could elbow him in the larynx.

I would love to him. He still provides plenty but as Devin said I dont we can use the TPE to sign FA.

Thanks! Actually I was busy at pogo.com yes I love to play the games there. The site is owned by EA Sports and yes you can play all of their games their not just card games.

Back to all of the trade talk and if you noticed that Otis Smith brought up the dreaded lux tax issue if the Magic were to go over that threshold it would cost the Magic millions.
What most people don't know is that teams that keep under that limit get a share of the money from the teams that go over the limit. I am not sure what the Magic got last year, but I heard it was around 2 million dollars and that is nothing to sneeze at.
Plus in these days where the economy has tanked and there is a credit freeze most of the NBA owners need every dollar they can get.
==========================================================================================
Question for those of you who live in Orlando is the new arena still being built. The reason I ask this the city and county sold only a small amount of the bonds to pay for this project and those bonds cost a lot more because the economy was in trouble then. Now I have heard that other teams building new arena's are having problems because of the credit freeze. It is affecting the new Nets home slowing down construction. Since the city and county couldn't sell most of the bonds what if anything is going on with the new arena or is the city and county going to assume the costs a different way???????

Re: I wonder if we're looking into this?
we can only use the TPE to take on extra salary in a trade from another team. Just like what happened with dooling. We got nothing in return for him so that gave us the exception. Now if we took someoone from another team (under 3 mill per year) we could send them the TPE but thta is all.

Which part are you talking about the issue about the Lux tax and what each gets can be found at NBA.com
The part about the credit freeze and problem with selling of the bonds ESPN and the Orlando papers. I remember them saying that the ones they sold they had to be sold at a higher interest rate of return.
You say that you know everything your turn to actually use the internet. I am going to go play at pogo bored by ........questions and no answers to some simple questions.

Too often hector posts something and no link, but everyone else has to provide a link under his system. That sounds like a person who acts like he knows everything.
BTW here is a link about how the NBA handles the lux tax issue, plus any other NBA issue about different kinds of trades etc.
http://www.sportscity.com/NBA/Salary-Cap/
Here is the link about the bonds and I love the part where the bond market will get better sooner then later. Instead as all know now it has gotten much, much worse with credit markets frozen. Here is an example the grocery store where I shop has shelves that are not full. I asked the manager what gives he told me that the company is only getting one order to the store a week instead of 3 because of the problem with the credit market. The company right now is not able to sell any of it's bonds because the interest rates are through the roof.
The link:
http://www.orlandosentinel.com/communit ... 5669.story
The city has many bond issues ahead to pay for the three downtown buildings.
But city leaders and their financial advisers insisted the venues financing is not in danger.
"We know the market will return to a more balanced state, and when it does, we'll have an easier time than we had this week," Sutton said. "I think we have a strong financing plan, and we left ourselves plenty of cushion to make the numbers."
Boy were they so wrong.
