ill play. Im almost 6'4 and can hobble down the court and shoot bricks. Definitely an upgrade over AJ, or at least play some backup minutes. ill even take a 10 day contract.

And this is what that trade exception was handy for, I do see us making a trade and using that because we are going to need a PG.

It wont be a starter but might be a legit enough back up that we dont have to worry so much for the time Meer is out.

Damn I would even take Kevin Kruger right now. The Magic know what he can do so why don't they take him. Just think he may be the diamond in the rough who just needed some polishing. All the polish has worn off AJ and there is almost nothing left.

I want Diener back in the worst way.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

After hearing all the options so far I cast my vote for playing 2 SG and let Hedo run the point on offense.

I would agree with you on that, but that would mean CL at the point and that will leave us with only MP and JJ at the 2.

I'd vote on a petition to bring back Diener.

And not just for the fun of it... I believe he would be very useful right now.

i think a trade might be hard, so who do we trade? bogans is injured, JJ is now the backup sg, lee isnt going anywhere, battie is our only regular backup big..so we got foyle, cook and gortat as trade bait that would make sense..

Here is the conundrum:

The starting 5 deserve starters' minutes. That means no yanking Jameer in and out of the game like Stan did last year. Conversely, the guy who comes in for the starter shouldn't be a huge letdown. Trouble is, when you have a guy who isn't that much worse than your starter, there's a pretty good chance he could start somewhere in the league and get starters minutes. Thus, guys will complain.

Last year, we had Arroyo and Dooling as our bench PGs. They were pretty good, almost as good as Meer. As such, Stan would play them a considerable amount. Well, did that maximize Jameer? As we have seen this year, when given starters' minutes, Jameer performs very well. But our bench guy, AJ, isn't very good. While he doesn't complain, he certainly isn't the best option.

So how do you manage giving your starter 30-35 mpg, while keeping a quality replacement happy getting 10-15 mpg, while he probably could go to the Kings or Thunders of the world and get that 30-35 mpg?

I think Diener is due for a break out year if given the pt. If we could offer our 1st to Indiana and absorb him with our TPE that would be great. A first might be a little much for a backup pg....but I think that is what it would take and most likely that is what we'd draft next year anyway so why not just get Diener.
