i was messing with the trade cheacker

Post#1 » by NEM » Mon Dec 1, 2008 5:57 am

and i came up with this 3 team, 10 player blockbuster. it would never happen, but would any of you do it?

Orlando Recieves:
Hakim Warrick
Mike Conley
Udonis Haslem
Shawn Marion

Orlando Trades:
Keith Bogans
Brian Cook
Rashard Lewis
Hedo Turkoglu

Memphis Recieves:
Hedo Turkoglu
Daequan Cook

Memphis Trades:
Javaris Crittenton
Hakim Warrick
Mike Conley

Miami Recieves:
Keith Bogans
Brian Cook
Rashard Lewis
Javaris Crittenton

Miami Trades:
Daequan Cook
Udonis Haslem
Shawn Marion

i would do this trade if we somehow started losing games at an alarming rate, because right now i'd be reluctant to make any moves because we are winning. this trade gives us a back up pg in conley, a very athletic 3 in warrick, who could become a trevor ariza type of player for us. we also get haslem to put next to dwight, and take some rebounding pressure off of him. last but not least we get shawn marion who is expiring and we would probably be able to re-sign him given the fact that we shed ourselves of lewis' deal.

pg-nelson/conley/johnson
sg-pietrus/redick/lee
sf-marion/warrick/richardson
pf-haslem/battie
c-howard/gortat/foyle

im too lazy to explain the reasoning behind memphis and miami doing this trade but it made sense for both. in a nutshell, miami gets a second scorer and a PG for the future, along with a role player and a filler. memphis gets hedo who can start at the 3, while they shift mayo to the pg, and gay to the 2. hedo would handle the ball a lot, and he's expiring, which seems to be what the grizzlies love, while giving up warrick, conley, and critt, all of whom they are reportdly shopping. btw if they were considering a deal for outlaw, this might be a better option for them

It won't happen... Lew is going nowhere. Try something that doesn't involve Rashard and where we could get a valuable PG and/or PF in return for Turk, Cook, Bogans and the rights to Fran and we'll see!!!

You'd really have to struggle to come up with a trade that made this team worse to the degree that this one does.

how about this mem/orl/por deal?

orlando gets:
hakim warrick
sergio rodriguez
shavlik randolph
orlando trades:
keith bogans
adonal foyle
rights to fran

memphis gets:
travis outlaw
adonal foyle
rights to fran
memphis trades:
hakim warrick
mike conley

portland gets:
mike conley
keith bogans
portland trades:
travis outlaw
shavlik randolph
sergia rodriguez

why for us?
we get an active bigger body who can play defense, and ha tremendous upside. we get rodriguez who has been rumored to be unhappy in portland and has been mentioned in a couple of rumors with memphis. he is a true point guard and would be the clear backup to jameer, and he would probably make jameer expendable. randolph was thrown in there to make the salaries match and he would take adonals place.

why for portland?
they get the pg to to run their offense (they have been inquiring about him a lot lately). they also get a perimeter defender to replace outlaw.

why for memphis?
they get the guy they have wanted for some time now in outlaw, to start at the 3 for them while they shift mayo and gay down by 1 position to the pg and sg. they also get fran who might actually come over to play for them because of the spanish connection with gasol. foyle was thrown in there to match teh salaries and would probably be waived and re-sign here or sign with the celtics

pg-nelson/rodriguez/johnson
sg-pietrus/redick/lee
sf-turkoglu/warrick/richardson
pf-lewis/battie/randolph
c-howard/gortat

obviously this wouldnt be able to happen until bogans came back but what are your thoughts on this deal. i dont think its as bad as the last one

If the Magic could get Hakim Warrick, Sergio Rodriguez, and Shavlik Randolph for Keith Bogans, Adonal Foyle, the rights to Fran Vazquez, GM Smith wouldn't blink in pulling the trigger.

I could actually see that deal getting done, but I doubt anyone in either front office is creative enough to initiate.

Now you are doing MUCH better... Sergio could help us at the PG and Hackim is a good low post presence and a good PF to play with Dwight... Randolph hasn't proven himself yet, but at least its a big body that we can also use in the paint... I could see this deal getting done, though its a looooooong stretch!!! Nice job though! Maybe you should forward it to Otis....

If this was this time next year, in which at the end of the season we had Mike Conley and enough cap space to sign Chris Bosh to a max contract, you know, I think I might just pull the trigger. But since its this year, negative.

why??? they were trying to trade outlaw and rodriguez for conley by himself, why wouldnt they do it to get an extra perimeter defender and shooter to spread the floor for oden??? rodriguez would be even more pissed off if they got conley and he didnt get traded anyways because earlier this year he was upset with a lack of PT, and with conley he is sure to get no PT at all
