I think we should go after him. He would be a great security guard or parking lot cashier.

LMAO. That's a really mean thing to say, even if you're just trying to make a point.

While I agree that Walker is essentially a bigger-name version of Cook, him being waived means that he would sign for the vet min (right? because his previous team will still be paying the contract he was on before?). So adding Walker on the cheap and the emergence of Gortat would make Battie and Cook somewhat expendable. That means we could ship out some $9m in salary without having to worry a whole lot about what we would be losing on the court. Throw in Redick and a pick, and all of a sudden we can put together a decent package while giving up almost nothing that other guys already on the team can't give us. As struggling teams continue to struggle, vets like Kapono, Camby, and Mike Miller could start to become available.

Granted, this is a bit of a stretched domino theory, but it's worth considering.

Even considering Catledge's compelling argument....

I believe the NO's have it!

Should we go after Antoine Walker? is like saying, "Should I shoot myself in the foot?"

The Magic have very little resources to go out and sign a player at this point because of the luxury tax.

If they are going to grab someone, it should be a third point guard.

Antonie Walker will catch on somewhere else though for a final run.

Wow you made me do a 12 take, when I seen this.. lol..

On a serious note, I wouldn't mind him on the team.. It can't hurt to have veterans on the team, regardless how many minutes they play.. I'm not sure any team will give him a significant role anymore.. If we're serious about the win now mode, veteran players who know how to play can't hurt us.. Low risk, but I'd rather wait to see if Stephon Marbury got bought out before jumping to Toine Walker..
