Cook would have been just as easy to trade them, for a VERY servicable young big..poo...

I think there's much more to the Diogu/Ruffin swap than meets the eye right now, but I could be wrong. I think the chances of Raef LaFrentz being moved alongside one or more of the Blazers' youngsters (Outlaw, Sergio most likely) are pretty high.

its more than a Diogu for Ruffin deal

Kings send:
Miller
Salmons

Kings get:
Gooden
Nocioni
Simmons
Diogu

Bulls send:
Gooden
Nocioni
Simmons
Ruffin

Bulls get:
Miller
Salmons

Trailblazers send:
Diogu

Trailblazers get:
Ruffin

also:

The deal also involved a third team. The Bulls agreed to send Michael Ruffin to Portland, and the Trail Blazers would ship Ike Diogu to the Kings, sources told ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard.

It wasn't just Diogu for Ruffin, and even if it was, as everyone else has said, Ruffin is at least an expiring contract. There is really nothing about Cook that would be attractive to other teams right now.

I have been under the impression cook expires for some reason... And I didn't know that it was part of the big picture deal that was pulled off...

cook definitely has the option to opt out, however I doubt he will and he would be expiring for the 10-11 season.
