Do we need to get Turk and Shard a rest?

I know we have Jameer out but they both look spent. Do you think with Alston coming in we could rest Hedo for 2 weeks and then when he gets back let Shard rest a couple weeks before the stretch run.

With Rafer, Lee goes back to playing more sg, and it frees up MP to play more sf. So, yeah, they will be getting a little bit more rest, as well as help.

I'm happy again too. I can't wait until we get the quotes from Rafer about the trade.

Rest is on the way.

he had no issues with the pressure last year. I think he is trying so hard because it is a contract year.

It'd be crazy to actually bench either one of these guys, but I'd like to see their minutes brought back a little bit. I think in general Stan leaves our starters in a little too long, especially in blowouts. I'd split the minutes like this:

Howard- 38
Turkoglu- 33-35
Lewis- 33-35
Alston- 25
Pietrus- 20-25
Lee- 20-25
Redick- 15-20
Johnson- 10-15
Battie- 5-10
Gortat- 5-10

I'd like to keep Pietrus in the starting lineup but he needs to stop chucking threes and start attacking the basket. I've noticed that Stan has called plays at the beginning of games to get him a quick post-up or cut to the basket, but he invariably drifts back out to the line as the game progresses.

I've never seen that happen unless there's injuries involved.

I have seen them rest Shaq in the past in Miami and L.A. It's been done before, but teams usually put them on the injured list with minor injuries.

With Shaq it probably was injury related, though not a major one.

They don't need time off. Turk is tired from the unfamiliar effort of running the point. He doesn't have to do that any more. Shard worked through the All Star break and has had to work harder because Turk was overextended. He could probably benefit from some reduced minutes for a while.

Also, discouragement makes you tired. Not knowing what will happen next (Will Jameer be back?) makes you tired. You should see a big increase in energy in this game whether Alston gets on the floor or not. They know what they have to do now.

I can see Hedo relaxing a bit now.
Rashard's problem is that he's not setting up his shots correctly (no follow through either).

Yeh Shard has no legs in his shot at all.
