So i heard today we signed Penny Hardaway

I guess it was a April fools joke or what?? Not seeing it being reported or anything.
Even had Nick Anderson on their, and he said he was unable to comment on the signing??
I didnt get to listen to the end of the show to see if they came clean and said it was all a joke, so i was jjust curious if any of you have heard anything to do with this?

I dont know... I think it would be pretty cool to have him on the bench... When the hell was the last time he even played though?? Release Lue, and sign Penny.....

I'm over the Penny thing. In my opinion, we should embrace him. He was one of the 3 best players in Magic history. His glory days were here. The guy was first team all-nba, All-Star, global superstar and lead us to the Finals. He didn't do squat with any other team, so if any place is going to retire his number (and I did say IF), then it's us. The guy has made a few overtures lately, coming on the AM radio to talk about the Magic, appearing on various tv tributes and halftime pieces. Yeah, he got Hill fired, but Hill's reputation has taken a bit of a hit since then. Some would say Hill was vindicated when he was re-hired and Penny was waived. I think Penny was a little bit vindicated when Hill was fired the second time.

I'd like to see the Magic and Penny play nice, and I think it's starting to happen.

I got no probs with Penny. I didn't like the way his exit was conducted, but I understand/understood that it's a business so I just enjoyed the years of entertainment he gave us rather than harping on the negative.

Back to the original topic - can teams even sign players at this point in the season?
