I had no trouble with trading away Speights. He played no defense (other than occasionally trying to draw a charge), didn't pass and stopped driving to the basket (he can use both hands) in favor of launching 19-foot jumpers immediately after entering the game. Collins didn't trust him because he seems to play the same way regardless if the score is 2-2 or 94-93.

One day in a practice scrimmage early last season he committed a charging foul with his team ahead by four points, less than 30 seconds left and 18 seconds to go on the shot clock. Collins nearly lost his mind.

That's a funny story. The discipline the team ususally plays with is one of the things I've liked about this regime.

I'm not losing any sleep over the Speights trade. Maybe he'll get it one day, but it didn't look like it would've happened here. And who says Allen doesn't end up being better anyway?

Exactly. Same can be said for Moultrie. A guy like Speights is absolutely replaceable.

Thanks Tom.

Who knew everyone was so high on Harkless? At least he'll get a lot of playing time in Orlando.

Looks like Rod's consulting fees just went up.
