That deal is horrible for ATL.

I would do Thad for Udrih.

In my opinion, Moultrie could turn into a perfect fit next to Bynum in a few years. He's tall, somewhat strong, yet quick. He can hit a short jumper and bring his man out of the paint a bit. He hustles on rebounds. He blocks some shots. Athletic as all get out. I say develop him and give him more minutes. Allen/Hawes/Brown are all bench players IMO. Only Allen has a chance to be a long term starter, but he's not ready yet and I'm not convinced he'd fit greatly next to Bynum. He did well in one playoff series and could be something special, but maybe not.

I'd like to see Moultrie and Allen battle it out for the PF spot.

So I'd say we should look at waiting until Hawes can be traded (December?), then look to package him with Thad in a deal that brings in an expiring and maybe a young SF to replace D Wright if he isn't re-signed.

Who might be looking for a serviceable C on a decent deal and a spark off the bench in their playoff push, that also has an expiring and a young SF or even SG on their roster?

To the above post, here's an example of such a trade.

It's clearly in favor of Philly, but in the right situation, SA might consider it based on getting 2 solid players to come off their bench in the playoffs at positions of more need than SF/SG.

http://basketball.realgm.com/tradecheck ... de/6138326

Another possible example. Milwaukee maybe makes a playoff push this year and is looking to solidify it's bench. Udrih for Thad is expanded to include Dunleavy's expiring and a nice young prospect in Lamb, and they get Hawes and Thad to help them in the immediate term. Maybe a future 2nd is thrown their way too.

I'm just throwing out ideas here. :)

Yes, Thaddeus Young for Beno Udrih is a good basis for a deal:

Sixers trade / Bucks receive:
F Thaddeus Young
SG Jason Richardson

Bucks trade / Sixers receive:
F Mike Dunleavy
PG Beno Udrih
another asset (2nd round pick? SG Doron Lamb?)

Sixers remove two long-term contracts, and get back guys who fill roles off the bench, and are expiring:

Sixers lineup:

PG Holiday / Udrih / Ivey
SG Turner / N. Young / (D. Lamb)
SF Wright / Dunleavy
PF Hawes / Allen / Moultrie
C Bynum / Brown

Not much of a downgrade, and major cap flexibility next summer when the following expire:

SF Wright
SF Dunleavy
PG Udrih
PG Ivey
SG N. Young
C Brown (if he opts out)

and you're left with:

PG Holiday
SG Turner / (D. Lamb)
SF
PF Allen / Moultrie
C Bynum / Hawes

and A LOT of cap room to go after a stud FA like Josh Smith, Paul Millsap, Andre Iguodala (if he opts out), etc.

The next step we could do(maybe a little bit aggresive) : package both Jrue and Turner together to see if we could land another young star who are at the same level as Bynum (thinking about Love , LMA etc.) while we can still retain enough cap space next summer to sign one of those big names (Harden , Ibaka etc.) Once you get your core group completed the rest of work would be much easier done than you could imagine.

ET for Paul George.

Why for Pacers:
ET gives them a much needed PG for them. He could be a valuable SG for them because of his ability to create his shot. At PG, he compliments George Hill. At SG, he compliments Granger and Hill's lack of ability to create shots.

Why for 76ers:
George gives them a long athletic wing, along with the 6'9 Dorell, to give guys like LBJ and Durant a harder time to score. George is also a good shooter.

*76ers does the Udrih for Thad deal.

76ers:
Jrue/Udrih
J-Rich/Young
George/Dorell
Hawes/Lavoy
Bynum/Kwame

Good shooting team that got great length and got two long athletic SF to guard elite SG/SF scorers in the league.

I love this trade!!!! It would be hard to lose both Turner and Thad but this deal makes us a much better team.

I doubt that Indiana is moving Paul George.

Value-wise, both teams will be relectunt to trade both guys. Fit-wise, ET is a better fit than George with G.Hill and Granger.

If we are trading ET and Jrue, I would go for Irving and Miles, and add fillers/picks where needed.

Waiters is a better fit next to Jrue, not Irving. Irving is good friends with Bynum, and is going to be a star. That gives you 2 young studs to build around.

I'm sure Cleveland also knows that.

Ironically, now that the 76ers have traded for Bynum and Jason Richardson, the perfect SF to play with the is Iguodala.

I know this trade will get criticized heavily, but I would like to see Thaddeus Young and Evan Turner traded for Rudy Gay. Gay is overpaid for being a borderline All-star, but I think I would rather pay a borederline All-star, who has a legitimate position on the court, 16 million, than pay 14 million for 2 players who are not starter quality.
I think the 76ers would be pretty tough to guard with Holiday, Gay and Bynum on the court together. It would also still allow for a similar amount of cap room at the end of the season, as Bynum, Brand, Nick Young and Wright all come off together and the 76ers could still sign a PF like Milsap, before resigning Bynum.
Ideally, I would prefer to trade both those players (Young and Turner)for a PF, but I don't think you could get a good one for them.

But is a Bynum-holiday-gay core enough to seriously contend? Seems like a poor mans LA Lakers.

I'm down for packaging Young and Turner for a star to complement Bynum and Holiday, but I'm not sure about Rudy Gay. I can't claim to have watched him play much, but his statistics appear to be those of an overrated chucker.

Just posted this on the trade board:

Sixers trade / Bulls receive:
C Spencer Hawes (2 yrs / $6.5M next year)
SG Jason Richardson (3 yrs / $5.8M next year)

Bulls trade / Sixers receive:
PF Carlos Boozer (3 yrs / $15M next year)

Sixers get a starting PF to play next to Andrew Bynum, Jrue Holiday, and Evan Turner.

Bulls get a center who can backup, or start next to Noah, and a backup veteran swingman, plus significant salary relief ($31M vs. $47M guaranteed for Boozer).
