Coaching Staff?

Postby Foshan on Tue Sep 11, 2012 1:30 am

Hey does anyone know all of who is on our coaching staff, and their roles?

I just saw the wiretap on Ewing not having a job still, we've got so many young bigs, I wonder if it would be worth bringing him on as a big man coach?

thx

I was thinking about Ewing as well but I think he actually wants to be a head coach. I think it might benefit Bynum from having another big to work with. DIdn't he work out a bunch with Kareem in LA? He could learn some things from Ewing as well...

I wouldn't mind Ewing on the bench... I'm also going to resurrect another name to put on my big man coach wish list - Bill Laimbeer.

Backup for Doug Collins in case Bynum gets out of control.

AS long as Curry's back, I'm happy.

So is Curry the big man coach... or the defensive guy... or both? Just curious, i've never seen job responsibilities listed

Curry acts as our defensive coach.

With regards to Ewing, I don't like him. As a big man coach, I don't think he did a good job with D12 specially with D12's post offense. It depends on who he will mentor. Like Yao, Yao showed some flashes of Ewing's offensive repertoire. But thinking about it, Hakeem could be the guy who was the one who taught him.

With Bynum, he'd be best working with a guy like Shaq or Moses Malone. With Lavoy, maybe Kurt Thomas or Haslem (if retired). And as a coach, I don't think he would also be that good. There's a reason why Knicks wants to send him to Dleague nor he is sought out by other teams.

Anyone think Mutombo would ever consider coaching? I believe he is the NBA's global ambassador or something of that nature, but I could see him being a great guy to have on the bench to mentor Bynum. I know he loved Philly and Philly loved him. Why not?

Hakeem gives Moses a lot of credit for helping him develop while Hakeem was at Univ. of Houston and Moses played for the rockets. But I think that was as in he learned a lot playing against him in the summers, not in a coaching type situation.
