If anyone has any video of that defensive sequence of Holiday on Iriving, please share it.

I agree, but popping on the pick and roll is sometimes necessary. It stretches the defence and makes it more unpredictable. If he didn't shoot that 3 ball then it wouldn't make the defence think he's a threat.

he was playing horrible for most of the night, defense and rebounding are very important for a big man and the cavs run circles around him.

I'm pretty sure Spencer had the most rebounds for us tonight in limited minutes (9) along w/Rich, and as far as defense goes, he had 4 blocks & came up big down the stretch when Cleveland found their way inside the paint. Not much more you can ask for from a big that was forced to give up his starting role to one of the worst all-around players in the league (Kwame) aka Doug's "guy."

Well we can wonder why on gods earth Ivey came in for those 6 minutes at the end of the 3rd and to start the 4th. I am still baffled by it. Its fine if he goes and stands in the corner on offense and i forget hes out there, but when hes bringing up the ball and Evan is standing in the corner after the 1st half he had running the offense, I just want to throw something at my TV.

Although i have to admit I almost hate Hawes I think he's pretty good on the pick and pop... I can live with him shooting, I'm only scared he could get in love with his jump shot. We lack rebounds, we lack guys who can fight under the boards so I'm ok with him shooting sometimes but I'm seeing him taking that kind of shot too frequently this year.
That's my opinion of course, not saying I own the truth

this.

this exemplifies the foolish tendency of people on this board to let their opinion of a player be dictated by his performance in the last 1 or 2 games

anyone can have a good game. what you should care about is long-run effectiveness, not bursts of good play

hawes is a thoroughly mediocre defender, poor rebounder, and inefficient scorer

not sure how people still like him

then again, i'm still confused as to how that moron nick young is so popular here but lou williams was blamed for 85% of the sixers' problems last season

You gotta give credit where it's due. Jrue and ET, in direct matchups with 2 other young players who have star qualities, did much better and the Sixers won the game.

You also have to keep in mind; however, that Jrue finished with 10 less points than what he's done in the past, and that could also mean he turned it over less because he didn't have to do as much on offense.

It was a great game by both and if they could only play like that every night, I wouldn't have anything to complain about.

I believe the quote was "doing well tonight." Maybe, just maybe, you could take the time to read before calling people foolish and in turn looking like a fool.

Or, that he wasn't forcing things...You act like his t/os are from shooting...It's from lazy passes...Which he has cut down...he can be a career 17-19 ppg player, he is efficient with it... And he didn't finish with 10 less pts, he finished with 4.5 less points...Seriously, check your facts...

Your logic? He played well tonight, but lets disregard that and sack him? Oh, OK.
