That's actually awesome news. He was a pathetic 206 pounds at the combine.

Now part of me wishes he would come back sooner this year.

Well need him for the playoff push. These 110-107 games need to turn into 110-95 games. Noels defense will help that.

IN all seriousness, I hope he comes back when hes 100%. 3-0 or not the longterm health of Noel is still much more important than anything(along with MCW health) and we need health come the start of the 2014-2015 season.

The bigger the better with him. Hes going to dominate the NBA if he takes the whole year off. I honestly expect a rookie of the year out of him next year even with the great class coming in. Hes going to take the NBA by storm the same way MCW currently is.

If the Sixers continue to win, he's back in late January for the playoff push.

Fantastic news. This guys work ethic is amazing. Has a chance to be a special player. How amazing would it be if both MCW and Noel pan out? They're very close friends, so they should want to stay here if the fans embrace them and everything goes well... We'd have our PG-C position set for the next decade!

2014 MCW rookie of the year. Noel 2015 rookie of the year. To me that sounds good.

I've been looking around but I can't find any stories on this. Can someone point me to the source?

Awesome news, He's been around this weight before so it's relatively easy to get back to the same weight in a healthy manner which won't affect his speed or play but the big test would be to get him to around the 260 mark where he would absolutely be a beast at but guess what he's only 19 and we have quite a bit of time.

While I'm certainly not expecting much if anything from Noel this season, it would still be nice to see him out on the court at some point this season just to see what he can do and how his injury has healed. Of course it's probably wishful thinking on my part though.

This January will be a couple months beyond the recommended 7-9 months recovery time. An athletic freak like Noel (much like AD and RGIII) should recover faster than normal BUT....that's not his only obstacle. He also needs to add significant lower and upper body strength. They should sit him out the entire year. He will be a significantly better player in October 2014 than he would be in January/February of this year.

There is no real reason to bring him back this year. Even if he is healthy enough, there's no reason to put more talent on the court when we are "trying" to tank. We have an excuse where we can take "precautionary measures" to ensure he is healthy moving forward.

A year without basketball, doesn't that hurt your progression as a basketball player?

And I thought Noel still had room for progression
