Hardwood Paroxysm, Grantland, EVERYONE who is an "NBA Insider" is pretty pumped to watch Nerlens play. I cannot remember the last time a Sixer had this much anticipation.

Noel makes this season must watch all by himself.

Nerlens' free throw shots look very solid considering what it looked like at Kentucky. I think he be a respectable mid range shooter and foul shooter. So excited to watch him next year.

If he can shoot 70% from the line and consistently hit the 15 foot jump shot enough to make defenders respect it, then I have no doubts that he can be a star at the 4. He still needs to get stronger anyway, but if he is able to play the 4 instead of the 5 then I have far less concern over his lack of strength.

I don't care much about his overall stats this year because I expect him to be up and down and have foul trouble. What I want to see though is the continued progression on his jump shot.

Same if his jumper keeps getting better a little each year I will be happy.

Is Noel set for opening night? i know he was suffering from a head cold, just wondering if that improved...

Honestly in terms of fit with Embidd . Noel doesn't really need to have a good outside shot to fit just a adequate one. I mean look at the history of big man who won championships with Duncan . Non of them we're outside shooters in the starting lineup. Tiago Splitter , David Robinson , Scola ... I mean this stretch PF next to a post presence like Embidd is over rated. Noel is definitely going to be more talented in offensive production than everyone except David Robinson on offense. Noel is going to be a defensive juggernaut at the 4 next to Embidd.

So what does this mean exactly about Noel and his future here?

I think the quote goes on to say something like - then Joel got hurt and we were lucky enough to grab him. they started thinking about timmy and the admiral and got excited.

I might be mashing two quotes together but still I'm guessing nothing.
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

Every team was surprised when it became clear that Embiid would not go first. If the projected first pick falls in your lap, you take him and figure it out. It's probably nothing to do with Noel's future here and more optimism about having two good big men.
I speak the truth.

Agreed. Embiid is good enough that you draft him and figure it out later.

So now that Arnette Moultrie is out of the way, does Nerlens Noel change his number to the #5 he wanted on draft nigh? Arnett wouldn't give it to him originally.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

I hope he does.
