Not anything earth shattering, but James Harden is the worst defensive player I have ever seen. So painfully bad it's unimaginable.

I don't care how great of a scorer a player may be, but if this is the type of effort he gives on the defensive side, I don't want him playing for my team.

Paul George's take on the Ray Rice situation, but then backtracks ...

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- NBA star Paul George defended Ray Rice on Twitter, then backtracked less than an hour later by deleting the posts and apologizing to women and victims of domestic violence.

The Indiana Pacers player said Thursday that Rice should be allowed to play in the NFL. He wrote: If ''a woman hit you first and attacking YOU.. Then you obviously ain't beatin HER.''

George later deleted those posts and wrote a new one that read in part: ''My intent was not to downplay the situation.''

:noway: :noway: :noway:

Because Rice's only option was to clock her. Is PG for real?

For anyone interested, Iverson's 55-point game versus New Orleans in the 2003 Playoffs is on NBATV right now. First half just ended, but plenty left to see.

IMO Lebron is just stacking his team up again. I don't think he really cares about going home that much I think he just wants the best team possible.

So I saw Markieff and Marcus both got extensions today with Suns... looks to me like Marcus stole some of Markieff's money lol. Honestly, I'm sure he was glad to give it up to play with his brother, they clearly play much better together. Although 13m per for two bench guys is a bit steep. But if there's any team that can figure it out, it's Phoenix and their 92 PG rotation.

Markieff is scheduled to start this season, so it's probably not too much for a starting PF and a bench player.

True, but long term those two you want on the court together, and Marcus belongs nowhere near a starting lineup, hence two bench guys. Anyway, I certainly don't think its a bad move for Phoenix, they are holding on to what they have and trying to develop it.

If you're saying they average out to a 6th/7th man, 6.5 million is pretty much what guys like that get paid. Probably look like a bargain after the new TV deal.

I'm a huge fan of shot blockers and this video made me really miss watching 'Zo. Obviously the dude got put on a lot of posters, but when you're a force on defense that challenges every dunker at the rim, you can't win the battle every time. Makes me excited to hopefully watch Noel and Embiid be our rim protectors for years to come.

Zo pre-kidney issues was a dominant player. Even after his transplant, he still had that toughness and strength. I would love for the sixers to get a guy like that in his prime. It's probably unfair to expect that from Noel or Embiid.

I recommend reading Zo's book. He talks about his non-traditional upbringing in Virginia (as a kid he asked the judge to put him in foster care), and his college connections to this guy:

His life is really an amazing story.

I'm trying to rank Horford and Millsap for fantasy basketball, but I can't decide what to make of the Hawks this year. They seem to have ok talent and coaching, but that ownership/GM situation sounds like a mess. Any opinions?

Millsap was pretty impressive last season. I just can't trust Horford. I feel like the dude's always getting injured.

Some good nuggets from Thad's intro press conference here (gotta scroll down):

1. Minny situation better than Phila because of presence of both young and veteran players;
2. Lack of continuity in Phila was a problem (he didn't say that but I think that's the implication);
3. Kevin Love's great stats didn't lead to the playoffs.

I think I could, but I don't want to. I like the give and take (though sometimes it can get crazy/silly) and enjoy reading the thoughts of other posters.

Just because you don't like my opinions doesn't mean we can't co-exist.

Is there some other reason, besides my opinions, that you feel I should stop?

Usually when a poster makes me think he either is

a) a troll or
b) an extremely uninformed poster

I feel that they should stop posting.

If you were a true 76ers fan and had actually watched any of our games it would become very evident that Collins was a very bad coach and Brett Brown is getting a lot out of the limited talent we have. If you think that you can use the argument Coach X > Coach Y because Coach X won 1 playoff series with a team that had much more talent and Coach Y has only been coach for one year with a team that is purposefully in a rebuilding stage while ignoring all other factors, then once again, you are either a troll or an extremely uninformed poster and should stop posting.

If you're going to come onto our board and post some "good nuggets" which consists of you bashing the Sixers by implying things from what Thad said that wasn't even directly stated in the article that you posted, then once again you should stop posting.

I don't consider myself a troll or an uninformed poster. I do consider myself a sixer fan, but I'm not sure what you mean by "true 76ers fan."

My comments about Collins are defensible. Collins has a track record; Brown doesn't. I think I even said once that it's not fair to compare Brown to other NBA head coaches because they're in different situations. But it seems like there's a lot of folks down on Collins, when he did a good job as coach. Right now, Brown isn't in Collins's class. Maybe he will be someday in the distant future.

Regarding my Thad post, 1. and 3. were pretty much directly stated. #2 was fairly implied I think. If you disagree, let's talk about it.

Finally, who's "our" in the phrase "our board"?

I try to watch every game i can watch of the sixers (hard from austria) and i also liked collins as coach and person. Brett Brown could be a good coach but what had achieve everyone would have done not hard to suck and develop players
