OT: 2015 RealGM 76ers Forum Fantasy BB League

Hey everyone. I know it's a bit premature (as it seems I always start these threads two months in advance) but I like to get the word out early regarding our fantasy basketball league. This will be the fourth year I've ran this league and I'm pleased to say we draw a great number of managers each year to participate (14 teams last year, which was our most ever).

I wanted to get a thread started so I can feel out who will be returning to play in the 2014-2015 season and any newcomers who may be interested.

The defending champion is Cru Thik. Below is a list of the managers from the 2013-2014 season. If your team's name is on there, simply post in this thread to let me know which team you were and if you are interested in playing again this season (some users do not have the same team names as their usernames so it is difficult to remember). Also include your e-mail address (PM it to me if you don't want it posted in this thread) so that I can make a list of addresses which I will send invites to once Yahoo! gets their basketball sign-ups going.

If you are a new fan to the RealGM Sixers forum and are interested in playing, you may also reply with your e-mail address and I will keep you on a list to secure any unwanted (or additional) teams on a first-come first-serve basis.

I think by the All-Star break last season, only about 8 of the 14 teams were still updating their line-ups on a nightly basis. I know we may all forget to set a line-up here or there, but literally some teams flat out quit.

PhilasFinest is correct. It does take the fun and competitiveness out of the league. Just because one of your star players gets injured or you aren't a top-5 squad mid-way through the season or even if you have a lousy draft doesn't mean you should just dog it or give up. A lot of help can be had through trades or even keeping tabs on the waiver wire throughout the season.

I doubt we will make any money involved because as Lurk Nowitzki mentioned, it's hard to trust an anonymous group of managers. I thought we had some good competition over the years, especially down the stretch and into the Playoffs.

I just renewed our league for the upcoming season.

I sent out invites to the managers who participated last season and replied to this thread saying they're interested in playing again.

I will wait another 7-10 days to see if the remaining former managers are interested in playing again and then will begin inviting those of you who are new and want in based on who replied first. I imagine we will have a decent number of available positions since a portion of last season's managers decided to quit halfway through the season.

Let me know if you have any questions. I am thinking we will hold the draft about a week or two before the season starts, which I believe is October 30th, but I will make a poll for that once we have all our teams registered.
