A big who can block shots and hit the occasional open 3. What's not to love?

If Holmes and Aldemir make the final roster, they could potentially be a solid duo off the bench. Holmes' ability to shoot outside and play defense combined with Aldemir's energy and rebounding. Definitely an upgrade from last year.

Aldemir is pretty blah.

I mean, dude hustles and can grab boards.....but his overall game is severely limited. Cant see him developing into anything worthy of keeping long term.

Holmes is guaranteed to make the roster. Aldemir with his guaranteed salary probably is too.

Holmes is a lunch pale guy. I liked his intro press conference comments about bringing positive energy to his team every day. So far, I like everything about him except I think his release on the J is kind of low like KJ's.
“This may be one of the best jobs in basketball right now,” Colangelo said at a press conference introducing him as the new GM of the 76ers after Sam Hinkie resigned.

For a people like me who follow 2nd round draft, Richaun Holmes is not a big surprise. He do what he is suppose to do: defense, energy, occasional 3s. He is picked in 2nd round because he is ole compare with other prospect, I think he can be 8th man in roster and which is a top 2nd round prospect expected to be.

Seems like it may be typical Hinkie deal, initial 2 years significantly guaranteed, following years (assuming 2) not.

Should be a solid part of the big man rotation by mid year at least, if not sooner. Glad to get him signed, even happier at his elbow healing nicely.

Good signing. Definitely has the skill-set to be a serviceable NBA big man. A bit undersized, but for a 2nd rounder he doesn't have too many holes in his game. He can step outside, finish inside, adequate rebounder/defender. With no Embiid this year he should have plenty of opportunity to develop.

Glad they got the deal done and it didn't turn into another KJ contract issue. The kid has an interesting skill set and im about as excited as you can be about a 2nd round prospect out of Bowling Green. And well, any news that isn't Embiid injury related is good for me.

Slightly OT but it was interesting to note that Sam has signed both of his rookies earlier than in previous years. I don't think Grant was signed until training camp last year. Embiid was signed 26 August while Okafor on 7 July. IIRC there was a theory that there was no rush to sign the drafted rooks early, so as to preserve cap room (being the difference between a cap hold and an actual rook deal). So whether it be a change in strategy by the FO or just the agents getting their way, I like the outcome.

Woohoo!

Hopefully he can develop that 3pt. shot with the Sixers. Looked decent in SL.

I'm really looking forward to Rich Homie Haun. Doesn't this mean that Aldemir day's are numbered? Excluding Nerlens and Nerlens, how does the healthy big men rank?
