2015 Summer League Discussion

Post#1 » by MRxBLACK » Fri Jun 26, 2015 1:31 pm

I figure we could put the schedule and the player signings here.

Sixers will be in Vegas and Utah this summer.

Apparently they signed McConnell:

T.J. McConnell's agent says deal w Sixers not just summer league invite but partially guaranteed contract worth "six figures" even if cut.

I don't care if he's unathletic with t-rex arms, T.J. McConnell was the best player on a team with two 1st round picks. Lol I like this pick-up.

And Okafor is playing both.

I missed the Hinkie presser, but did someone ask if Noel is 100% ruled out from both summer leagues?

K.T. Harrell is similar to Jordan McRae.

Back to back years, we acquired arguably the best scorer in the SEC.

Harrell went 6-12 and dropped 17 on Kentucky during the regular season. Later in the conference tourney he had 13 on them but on 1-12 shooting. Needless to say, adjustments were made lol.

Looks like 47th pick Gudaitis will be joining the team in summer league, but not the regular season. The roster limit is 20 in the summer, right?

Donatas Urbonas @Urbodo
Arturas Gudaitis just told that @Sixers wants him to stay in Europe at least for one season and invited him to play in NBA Summer league.

This is pretty much it, players underlined are probable summer participants:

Canaan / McConnell / Jackson / Wilbekin
Thompson / Tokoto / Wroten / Harrell
Covington / Grant / McRae / Jones
Noel / Holmes / Hunter / Sampson
Okafor / Embiid / Aldemir / Gudaitis

PG battle between Burton,Jackson and McConnell.....should be interesting to watch these guys compete for a spot.

Still think that if fully recovered and healthy, Pierre Jackson stands the best chance to make the team. Dude was simply electric scoring the ball prior to injury.

76ers will sweep the Summer League Chips as a harbinger of the Okafor Era. Pierre Jackson and Jordan McRae are going to tear it up.
“This may be one of the best jobs in basketball right now,” Colangelo said at a press conference introducing him as the new GM of the 76ers after Sam Hinkie resigned.

I hope they split up what leagues Jackson and McConnell play in. I want to see what each can do on their own.

I'm fully expecting Jordan McRae to light it up in SL.

I see no reason why he shouldn't be on the 15 man roster next year. He can score and shoot from the 2 spot (38% 3PT in Dlg on almost 6 tries a game), something we need.

YO I'm so excited for the summer league to start. I'm tempted to pay the $15 for NBA Summer League live.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
