Please don't overreact.
Kings have a tough shedule coming on:
Denver (twice), who are just behind them and playing better
Spurs
Clippers
Thunder
Grizzlies
Mavericks
Spurs
Pelicans
Cavaliers

That could be 2-8

On the other hand: Pelicans have a pretty easy shedule, Denver too, Orlando too, Bucks not so hard, ...

They could all be 4-5 games up on the Kings mid-march. And at that time, the Kings will know play-offs are out of reach (if they don't realize it by now already). Who knows what Cousins and Rondo are going to do then.

Or we could turn that around and say let's not go all rose colored glasses. Blake's out, Gasol's out, the Mavs are old, Denver is bad, the Pelicans are a mess... as easily as the Kings could go 2-8 in their next 10, they could just as easily go 6-4. They are not without talent. They are dysfunctional. You can't allow the dysfunctional to become functional.

You can panic as much as you want ... it's up to you.

Just thinking Kings are almost out of play-off contention if you look at it realistically.

There is just no reason for them to end 11-15, because they have to give their pick away.

The moment they realize they are out of the play-offs (probably after that 10-game stretch), they will try to get in the top 10.

The swap doesn't mean much to them, they keep a pick in that case. That's not the case if they finish 11th.

http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/240767/Paul-Pierce-I-Might-Be-The-Reason-Celtics-Get-Ben-Simmons

Paul Pierce played in what may be his final game at the TD Garden on Wednesday in an overtime thriller.

Pierce was traded by the Celtics to the Brooklyn Nets in 2013 in a package that included several draft picks. The Celtics own the Nets' pick this year, which could be a high lottery pick.

“I’m helping build this team,” Pierce said with a laugh. “Hey, I might be the reason they get Ben Simmons.”

My hate for Pierce shall remain eternal. Please don't take credit for Billy King's ineptitude, Truth.

Their goal is playoffs or bust, which means they won't quit until they are mathematically eliminated, and maybe not even then because they have to keep Boogie happy. The point is they could still get this thing back on track and make the playoffs, pretending that can't happen for whatever reason is silly. The bottom playoff teams of the West are bad this year. But had they lost last night, the bickering continues and discontent smolders... powder keg waiting to explode. This keeps the powder dry; as they say winning is the best deodorant.

Did you watch Karl last night? The guy is totally mailing it in, probably because he wanted to trade half the team and Vlade wouldn't do it. The loss helps keep Karl pseudo coaching longer, which makes Boogie and the rest more hateful. The loss keeps the dysfunction dysfunctioning even longer, which works nicely. Can Karl and they will get the prove the coach was the problem bump in their play for a while. Our losing and not passing the Lakers is more important anyway in the grand scheme of the lottery.

Difficult to have DMC as the cornerstone and blame the coach. They are one of the worst franchises in sports from to to bottom. Karl is part of the issue, but they don't have a winning locker room either. Phil, Red, Billy C, Riley, insert other great coach here, is not fixing that lineup. Good thing is it potentially helps the sixers.

The most important period for the tank war would be 11-23 March. During these 2 weeks, we play Nets twice and Lakers play Suns twice. Among these four teams, I think Lakers have the easiest schedule in the last two months. Really hope that Kobe could win them some games.

Bosh out with an undisclosed injury, I love CB and hope he is fine, but if he is out for a significant time that Miami pick is going to be bananas, they are complete poop without him.

Hopefully it isn't a recurrence of his clot problem. Would be great for the pick obviously, but horrible for him, and I definitely don't want that to be the case.

Strained calf, but he supposedly went to Canada for the AS Game, so it seems odd.

Some are reporting now that this is worrisome because a calf problem was what led up to the blood clots last year.

Absolutely. Bosh seems like a great guy from all accounts. Hopefully it's just a calf issue.

Chris Bosh is a good dude but the fact he's pimping pharmaceuticals gives me less pity for his situation. If he's out for the year that Heat pick is $$$$$$$$$$$$. I see it being 13 at worst, possibly 11 or 12.

I wish Bosh the best... but i'm really afraid that pick is going to plummet to 10 again and we will miss it. Especially if Miami trades Whiteside.

Only upside would be, I don't see Miami being much of a free agent destination next year, so ideally that pick will be unprotected and strike high lotto :)

IDK if they will reach 10, Mia has a 6 game lead on NYK (which goes to Tor), Orl, and Wash with on 19 games left for Mia. That would be an epic fall. I can definitely see 12 -13.

But, I agree with everyone else, Bosh seems like a good dude and I hope he can recover

There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

not that i wish harm upon any player but the timing of this injury is interesting to me.

if it came a week later the heat could have easily traded whiteside and maybe a few other players in order to make a playoff push.
if they did that and then bosh was out. pick would plummet!

but who knows what the heat will due now not knowing CB's future.

* the sac swap is bound to get more interesting as well... i would guess one or more of Gay, KK, McClemore, Caspi? , Collision, etc will be moved.
