Kings will never back out, it would ruin the entire premise NBA trades work
and will castrate any GM who agree to a deal just to be voided by the owner
what is the point of making deals and cancel them after backlash from fans or media?

Well that'll make the worry warts (myself included) feel better
Man the Kings are a terrible organization. I feel truly bad for the fans. I'd say the Kings are the worst run team. Vivek makes MJs decisions look brilliant

So Stauskas isn't good at hitting shots with a hand in his face?

Yeah, his 3 point shooting % goes to roughly 10% ( 6/59 ). I included our shooters to show they don't drop off the cliff like that.

Interesting. This is info I'm sure Hinkie and BB are aware of. There will no doubt be a focus on getting Sauce open shots. He and Covington are going to benefit so much from Okafor's passing ability.

6 out of 59 on contested threes
compared to covington who shot like 35% on contested threes last season?
well its a low risk trade anyways, but that just made me lose a lot of confidence in nik

Already posted Covington's, but it is 86 / 263 or 32.7%. So, not a quality shot, but over triple the rate of Stauskas.
BTW, take a look at the Hollis Thompson numbers... 47 / 118 or 39.8%
You don't want to take the numbers and assume thats the underlying percentage and not a noisy realization, but if you spent all last season working with Hollis on getting his shot off quicker, you have to see that and crack a beer.

If they aren't over the cap, why is this significant?

I look for him to have a big year for them. He's a perfect fit there. They really just need a point guard and Rondo would be a good fit, provided he keeps his ego in check.

That's a good signing tbh, kind of sucks. Really hope they offer a big contract to Rondo.
Trust the Process

I would throw out any conclusions based off his rookie season simply because he was never allowed to get established. He is a confidence player, and he had his confidence shaken.
He can shoot with deep range, and he can do it off of the bounce.
I love the kid.

It's my understanding that the Kings had ~9m in cap space before their trade with the Sixers. This signing eats up 6.3m. Do I have that right?

Re: Sixers acquire Landry, Thompson, Stauskas, 1st rder from Kings
I am not saying they're going to pull out, I am not saying it's not done or anything like that - BUT -
...After my first year of college I got a job selling cars during some time off of school... I saw an ad in the paper for a very old and very well respected family dealership in my area and walked in, and had no idea that they had a company policy of securing young men to train as sales professionals and keeping them around for 20-30 years ... so they hired me on the spot and made me part of their team, youngest in their history etc. One thing I learned very quickly- a car sales saying very applicable here:
"You ain't got $h!t until you got tail lights!!!"
Meaning, until you see the tail lights of the vehicle you sold as it drives away from the lot, having crossed the curb from the parking lot area to the (public) road, you ain't got $h!t. You can have a verbal deal, a handshake deal, a deposit, a signed contract, you can have done the deal and took the darn check for the vehicle and "delivered" it to the person "officially" .... BUT-
Until they take possession of the car and physically remove it from the premises, they can cancel the deal. Many different ways, some easier some harder and some very hard and involving arguments, threats of litigation and perhaps actual lawyers/lawsuits, but, still, until you see those taillights of the vehicle driving away, you ain't got a deal.
So while I agree it's very unlikely they would have the intestinal fortitude to do this, stranger things have happened in life and sports. So I tell you all, "You ain't got $h!t until you see taillights !!"

They would need to rescind a bunch of cap holds to get to any cap space without the trade. But lets not worry about exactly how much and just focus on Sac signing someone else for 7m+ a year.
