OT: Eagles trade up for Number 2 pick

Not at all happy with this move. We gave up way too much to land Wentz or Goff. Granted Bradford isn't anything special, but he wasn't bad either. I'd rather them have just stayed pat and took a O lineman.

Sal Pal was just on ESPN Radio and said the Eagles pretty much got a guarantee from LA that they are taking Goff. Eagles will be drafting Wentz

He better be worth it.

If he turns into a franchise QB then it is a no brainer. If he doesn't then it could be a disaster.

I don't know anything about the guy other than what I have read, but if they love him then I say go for it.

I'm glad that they kept one of their 3rd rounders this year as well as their 2nd rounder next year. That's a lot better then sacrificing entire drafts.

QB is probably the most position in sports, so if the Eagles felt they will get their franchise QB at #2 the trade isn't bad at all. If that 2017 pick is high, it could hurt. Only time will tell.

I would have to agree with this. At least now we will rid ourselves of Howie after Wentz is a bust.

How the hell can you declare a trade "one of the worst of all time" before the pick even plays a game??

Talk about an extreme overreaction.

It is a QB driven league. If you don't have a QB you won't go anywhere. Making this trade they obviously did their homework and feel he is worth this price. If they handle this the right way and let him sit and learn for a couple years from Bradford and Daniels (Like Rodgers) it could turn out well for them. Risk worth taking.

I don't know how to feel about it. I'm excited and scared at the same time. On the plus side, we may have a new franchise QB in town. We haven't had stability at QB since Donovan left, and it's no given that you'd have another chance to get up this high in the draft to find a top prospect any time soon. On the down side, Wentz is far from a can't miss player, and our 1st next year could very well end up being a pretty high one depending on how you view this team.

We didn't over pay based on history if he pans out. Of course he could go either way.

I don't know enough about him to really evaluate him as a prospect, but if he is rated as a top pick then he has as good a chance as anyone to succeed, and we would have no better options in the near future. You can't win without a qb.

The Eagles are such a dumpster fire at this point I don't care. Throw **** at the wall and hope it sticks!

Anyone who doesn't like this trade is just like the anti Hinkie people who don't see the long term.

Uhhh.... no. There is no Cam Newton/Andrew Luck ransom, because the teams that pick them don't trade the pick. Otherwise it would would significantly more than the Eagles paid to get #2. Like 4 future first round picks expensive.
