I would trade Bryan Colangelo for Rose. Sure, we'd have to eat Rose's contract but at least that would remove a GM who I think is going to be the anti-Hinkie.

We dont need anything that bulls, celtics or the lakers have to offer, keep
oak and keep building, noel is not a center as least not a good one and
embeiid may never play well enought or long anought to make me want to
trade away our best center.

Re: Bulls have called Sixers to express interest in Okafor
Given Butler's age, if we traded Okafor for him we'd likely have to trade the rest of our young players/picks for other disgruntled all-stars in their prime i.e. Cousins which would ultimately shorten our window of title contention by 4-5 years. Of course then we could possibly go after Durant in free agency thus having our own big three.
We either have to go all-in on the "vets for assets" route or not at all. There is no in-between.
Aside from Butler, there is nothing on the Bulls roster that's worth trading Okafor for.
I hope the media is happy they now have a guy like BC leaking stuff just to give them a story to write about.

Exactly, I've posted it on this forum & others, but there is NO point in signing mid-aged "star" types like Derozen, Butler....Our core is way too young to compete, and by the time we are ready those guys will be aged. Just draft Simmons, sign some vets, and ifyou have to deal Okafor (which I'm against) then you better fleece someone for picks & young assets

^ and when I say vets, I mean Kevil Ollie types, guys who have been around & can help the young guys.

I absolutely agree. I don't even want to trade Okafor for Butler. Better to trade #3 and young player(s).

I don't know why getting Butler would mean we would have to trade all of young players 26 is not old. You need veterans. That's flawed logic thinking we need to get rid of our young players. So Embiid and Noel and Okakor and Saric would have to go? That makes no sense. And then we draft Simmons who's a rookie. Do we get rid of him too lol.

Well, I thought about it, and I agree with you. Butler makes sense since he is not that old lol. He's 26. The thing is, we are trying to build a team that will compete for a title in 4-5 years. Butler will be 30-31 by that time, not that old lol.

Okafor for Mirotic maybe. We really need the perimeter scoring Mirotic brings. It's not a great haul, but I'd listen if they put him in the table.
I doubt Okafor could get you a guy like Butler. Why would the Bulls trade him? He's an awesome player.

We have Saric, no need in Mirotic

^You may be right. But We need NBA players. Expecting Saric to come in from day 1 and be ready to be a good NBA starter may be too much. I'm sure they'll be enough minutes for him to feel satisfied.

Saric is Simmons back up. May be some minutes sharing with Simmons as forwards. Some minutes as C on small ball. Saric will surprise some people. But he will be great 6th man in nba for years. I've seen him play a lot.

we haven't even drafted Simmons yet. If we draft him, obviously things change. But I think there's a decent chance we take Ingram. We need the shooting.

Not happening. We are drafting Simmons. It's a done deal. You don't draft a lesser player just because he's a better shooter.

If Butler gets traded, I'm sure that he'd prefer going to a contender where he could win now, as opposed to 3-4 years down the road as he would with the Sixers otherwise he'd be wasting much of his prime waiting for our guys to develop. That's why if we traded for him, we'd likely have to trade away our other assets to construct a team that could be an instant contender a la the Celtics in 2007-08 or the Heat in 2010.
Personally I'd rather just stay the course and let our young players develop the way OKC has done and Minnesota is currently doing. If we trade Okafor, it should be for picks and/or young players in the same age/experience range as our core rather than middle-aged stars in their prime like Butler. If we bring in vets, it should be older vets who are at the end of their career like Brand, Andre Miller, etc. who can mentor the young guys without interfering in their development.

we aren't going to trade Jah for another big man. That is stupid and defeats the whole point

Could see us trading him for someone that fits better. But yeah it's unlikely.

Jah for Porzingis would look a lot better with this roster.

Pretty sure that's what Minnesota thought when they took Flynn and Rubio over Steph.

C'mon now. Curry is the best shooter ever, while Ingram is a decent set shooter with no other stand-out skills or abilities. I would really love it if Ingram was a KD-like dead-eye shooter but it's just not true, unfortunately. He's a pretty good catch and shoot guy, and he's long and can create long 2s for himself, sometimes. That's who he is as a player. Also, watch one minute of Flynn and Simmons as college players and see if there's any sense in that comparison.

He turns 27 before the season starts, and there's a big difference between vaguely hoping that you can be a title team in 4 years and actually just needing a piece or two to be one. We have zero pieces that we know are high-level championship building blocks, so it seems silly to start checking our ring sizes and making moves that will plan for the finals. We have no idea what we'll look like even next season, there's a good chance we're not any better than this year (and we definitely won't be good).
