Utah recently made Trey Burke available and he could be a relatively inexpensive, young option that still has some upside. He's a mediocre 3 point shooter, but not bad. He's a little undersized, but really long and a pretty good offensive player. Perhaps Philly can package a couple of its #2 picks for him. I wouldn't give up a #1, but he might be worth a flier if Utah cannot get any better offers.

I don't think the fit is there for him to start for us. Longterm he probably transitions to a backup PG role. Still I'd prefer to have him for 13 million then sign some backup off the FA scrap heap like lin for 10 million.

I don't think you are going to find any value on the FA market. I do think you may find some value with teams looking to dump distressed assets to get skin in the game for free agents.

The Heat come to mind. OKC is another team that comes to mind. Phx is another. The Clippers may have to dump JJ Redick to get Durant. SA may have to move Green or Parker. Toronto may have to move ross to fit Bismack and Derozen. Thats where the real deals are to be made imo.

either a REALLY short term deal for a vet PG or Pat Beverly since he's a perfect 3 and D to fit with Simmons.

Beverly seems ideal, but unless you can get him for a draft pick, he's not worth Noel on his own.

Interloper just trying gauge value / possible interest here ...

Tyus Jones, Bazz and Payne

For

Covington, Landry and any other player you just want to dump

Thoughts?

Can't believe that deal for Clarkson. Really surprised that we or another team didn't set the market higher for him.

Still feel it's a lot of money for a back-up.
I'm really not high on his potential.

Anyone saying Clarkson deal is a steal/should fire his agent, clearly doesn't know the NBA very well.

He got 4/50 and most non-Laker teams could give him was basically 5 mil in the first two years. So he essentially got a 2 year at 20 mil per additional years. I don't think 20 mil a year for clarkson is a "steal". Not to mention the Lakers are basically paying him 12.5 mil a year, not the 5 per year for 2 years, then 20 per for the next 2 so the present value of 12.5 a year is actually almost closer to an additional 2 year 24 mil per year for the final 2 years. Far from a steal. But in a vacuum, yes it seems like it.

a lot of talk about what would be too much money to pay some FA...

i'm curious.. what is your "line" that you would draw to trade for:

Burke?

Rubio?

Beverly?

Knight/Bledsoe?

Smart?

Other?

Apparently Lin went to the Nets. 3 years, $36 million.

With Whiteside getting Miami's Durant money, I see Goran Dragic in the 76ers future. The Heat will want to clear space to keep their options open.

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

We should have signed Lin. We could have beat the BKN deal.

I'm not giving up value for Dragic, but if they want to basically give him to us for cap relief I'm game. He has 4 years left at big dollars and is already in his 30's.

Its possible Lin simply wanted to play in New York again.

I said earlier "id be ok with Dragic" but finding out he got 4 years left in the high teens, I change my mind

Dammit, Orlando. Augustin would have been a really ideal piece.

I think it's going to be Jarrett Jack. Feels about right. Not at big money either.
