For what it's worth, Nylon Calculus estimates that Crabbe will rake in a deal worth $17+ mil per year.

He looks like a good starting NBA SG moving forward.

Re: Report: Sixers interested in RFA Allen Crabbe
This is a deal that makes sense for the 76ers. He's improved dramatically each season. He's 24. He's got good size in a position of need. And he's a knockdown shooter.
The only question is has he reached his potential or will he continue to make gigantic leaps?
If he stagnates $17 million is an overpay, but not excessively so in the new cap environment. If he does continue to improve then he's a potentially a valuable addition.
Either way this is the type of move that can be validated

Crabbe should be our #1 target IMO. I wonder how much POR is willing to match. Reminds me of the situation Middleton was in last summer and now his deal looks great.
2023-2024 Philadelphia 76ers:
Lowry/Melton/Payne
Maxey/Hield/Downtin
Batum/Oubre/Council
Harris/Covington/Martin
Embiid/Reed/Bamba

I cant believe im saying this but, I like Crabbe at 17 more than Barnes at 23?

I am 100% on board with Crabbe. If it takes $17 million then so be it. His game is perfect with Simmons.
And after that I go after Lin. If it takes $30 million (combined) to bring in an NBA backcourt then so be that too.
But I go hard after Crabbe at 12:01 Friday morning and after that I have Lin on speed dial too.

Does getting into a bidding war with two desperate franchises like Sacramento and Brooklyn concern any of you?

Seems like the kind of guy who'd fit in well with our current core. Would definitely take him over Barnes.

It would if the Sixers weren't in a completely different place moving forward. Sixers have guys projected to develop into stars. Paying guys like Crabbe and linn pretty decent money to come in and balance the roster and help make the sixers competitive while Simmons and embiid develop is a lot more favorable then what the Nets and Kings are attempting to do. Plus the sixers also have desirable assets down the line as opposed to empty cabinets these 2 franchises have.

Can shoot. If offer him big money Blazers may not match with McCullom and reported pursuit of Whitside or another such big....
Might as well, need to reach cap floor.

If I had to give out a risky max contract, Crabbe would be my choice over Barnes.
HB could be more talented but Crabbe plays a position of need and has potential upside.

Being mentioned in the same breath as those teams concerns me, but if they really are the competition they we would actually be the far preferable destination for once. I noticed us being in alleged contention with those team for most FA's we are connected to via rumor, which sounds a lot like agent tumors to me.
I do hope Dion Waiters lands in Sacto, that would be awesome!

Re: Report: Sixers interested in RFA Allen Crabbe
I like Crabbe, NBA is just a gold mine for players now though.
Players just need to have 1 good year and you guarantee yourself a luxurious contract if you are heading into FA.. He had a pretty good year, a breakout year for him but still he only averaged 10 points a game and it could have been a fluke.
I hate where the NBA is going but with this player pool and the current cap I guess he is a decent option at 17 a year.

Barf. As a Blazer fan, if a team like the Sixers or Kings offer him that, I'll be throwing a party when the Blazers let him walk.
He's barely worth 10mil, let alone 15-17. That's insane for how limited his game is and how low his ceiling is. The fact he's getting these kinds of numbers thrown around is ludicrous.
I like Crabbe, but I just like Crabbe. He's far from irreplaceable. I think he's gonna be the highest risk for early buyers remorse by some team. When you're paying 17mil for 12ppg, 3rebs and at best mediocre defense, you're gonna be pissed.

I'd much rather Barnes for 23 than Crabbe for 17. Barnes has proved himself over multiple seasons and put up good numbers on a loaded team; Crabbe has had one solid season. Barnes is the safer option IMO and more likely to be able to handle the added volume on offense he'll get on the sixers. Barnes is also more versatile; he could comfortably play 2, 3 or 4.

I agree with you. I'm one of two people that voted "no" in this poll. I'm not convinced Crabbe is substantially better than rookie, Timothe Luwawu.
