Honestly, I don't see it with Clingan either. Like Edey, dominant at this level, but probably a situational player in the NBA.

I think there's less risk with Clingan because he's such a fantastic defensive player. He's basically Walker Kessler.

His absolute floor is Jakob Poeltl.

Kessler is actually a really good potential comp.

Clingan could have been a lotto player last season, but he is top 5 pick material for me in this draft, so he might have made the right decision. Walker Kessler and Jacob Poeltl are both good comparisons.

Don't blame NC State, Duke had already crapped out. As did UT, Houston, Arizona, Purdue, and Kentucky.

Conference tournaments are a waste of time, I've always felt that way. Especially with the 64-bid field, the only teams that really care about them are the ones that have to win out to get in. It's almost like, we did the conference grind for the last three months, let's just get to the big dance.

I really like Johni Broome. He's a culture-setter, with his oncourt energy. In the same way that Joakim Noah was for Florida.

If he's there at 37, I think it would be a really good selection.

What do you guys think about Providence' Devin Carter?

I feel like he's going to have a pretty good shot at developing into a starting G in the NBA. He's always been a good, scrappy defender. He's been a decent playmaker. He stayed in school long enough to at least develop into a passable shooter.

I can envision him being a solid 4th or 5th starter. Kind of like a Melton type at the NBA level.

Terence Shannon is going to be awfully temping in the late first.

Stats initially were very tempting to me, but after watching games, he looks very ordinary to me as an NBA athlete.

He's a beast - nasty defender, solid rebounder and post player, and has made himself into a decent 3-pt. shooter. I can't imagine he wouldn't be gone by the 20th pick.

I didn’t watch any of his games, but can someone explain Sincere Parker to me? He has insane scoring numbers, solid defensive numbers but only played 22 minutes a game.

I think there's an interesting correlation between guys that transfer from small program to a big program (and match their production at the bigger school) and their hit rate at the NBA level.

A couple examples that come to mind are:

Brandon Clarke: San Jose State -> Gonzaga -> good NBA player
Trey Murphy: Rice -> Virginia -> good NBA player
Austin Reaves: Wichita State -> Oklahoma -> good NBA player
Jake LaRavia?

With that in mind, are Dalton Knecht, Johni Broome, and Antonio Reeves relatively safe picks to be good NBA players?

Productive college players who play the desired game/skills for their position in the NBA and are given opportunities in the NBA become good NBA players.

Moving from a small program to a big program suggests that a player is more likely to have the talent to make it into the NBA compared to most players from small programs. However, ultimately, factors such as production in amateur ranks, style of play, and opportunities in the NBA play a bigger role in determining a player's career.
