Last year we had the MVP and this year we have the MIP. Congrats, Tyrese on an award well-deserved.

Now is the time to go insano mode. Just won an award, currently on the ropes, main star is injured. If he wants to make the reputation jump, take over this series and win it.

Coby White doesn't strike me as an impact player, despite the stats. So I'm surprised that the fan narrative is that he should have won it. Sengun probably should have won, if Maxey didn't.

Well deserved. It's crazy because he still has so much room for improvement.

Congrats, and the best part is he still has room to improve. With his attitude and work ethic, I'd bank on it.

Still blows my mind how many around here wanted to dump him for whoever the flavor of the week 'superstar' was at the time.

I understand the votes for other guys like Coby White or Jalen Williams given that their jumps are higher from a statistical point.

What i don't get is the "this is a linear jump" for Maxey argument i heard in some places. Guy was drafted 20 and never was expected to be in the position he's now, never mind being this good while still not on his prime years.

I hope the win gives him more motivation, also hope the fact he's gonna get the trophy tomorrow ahead of the game gets the crowd going for the game

Maxey's improvement is far more impressive than White or Williams. He's taking the jump from very good to star-level which is much more difficult than fringe rotation player to quality starter. This is very well deserved.

It wouldn't shock me to see him as a contender for this award next season if he goes from star to full supernova. You can't bet against this dude.

Well deserved and I think he's still going to get better. Great kid, glad he's ours!

I wish Tyrese got a team USA invite. That’s where you get the opportunity to recruit stars to your team and he’s charismatic enough to pull it off.

He should be a 30ppg scorer in his prime he really has a scorers mentality and a will to get better. 26ppg 6ast and just 1.7to in his age 22-23 season. Wouldn’t surprise me to see him average 28ppg and 8ast next season.

What will make him a great scorer is that he already has about 3 go to moves he uses regularly. He also has a tight handle. His potential as a scorer is ridiculous.

Tyrese Maxey has become the first player to be named Most Improved Player after averaging 20 points per game in the prior season.

Yeah I was confused as to why he wasn't invited

People seem to think that most improved player should only go to someone who sucked the prior year.

This is a makeup call because he should have won it back in 2022.

Cam Thomas should have won it this year.

I was just looking at it... I think there's a real shot kid makes All-NBA. So many of the usual suspects are not eligible.

Hadn't been an All-Star yet. Now he is, and he will be involved with USA Basketball going forward.
