So we got Elton Brand for cap space and Calvin Booth.

Not bad.

Don't forgot the first-rounder the Sixers had to send to Minnesota for the Wolves to take Booth and Carney.

So strange....I was just reminiscing over Knux-Future's Dunkz Hawd appreciation thread earlier today. :o

Decent signing btw.

So is Carney our 2nd best 3 point shooter? I believe so.

soo... Daly/brand/young/iggy/lou are the starters. Speights/kapono seem to have the rotation spots locked down. I assume smith and brezec will play based on matchups so that leaves green/carney/ivey.... i gotta think ivey is the odd man out.

You forgot Holiday. There's gonna be a few odd men out in terms of the rotation. We have 13 players right now.

The fact we gave him a 1-year-deal gives you an indication of his value.
Carney will not be in the league anymore in 3 years.
He will get minutes while the game is out of hand or in complete control, but rather than that, I don't like him.

IMO Ivey's going to be given the opportunity to be the team's defensive stopper in the backcourt if he can do the job. I think Ivey & Green will share that role. I don't know about Holiday & I expect Iguodala & Carney to cover the good 3s from the other teams. I'm not sure how they'll match up Thad.

Now this move, I like a lot. I happen to agree with those who suggest that Carney often plays too fast and cannot harness his athleticism. I have also seen him play excellent defense from time to time and get really hot from distance. When you are filling out your roster with minimum type contracts, every player is going to have warts of some kind. If you can find a guy that can potentially give you something on any given night for this price, it's a good signing if you ask me. If he fails completely, you spent the minimum and he leaves next season. No harm, no foul.
