We’ll see how it goes during the season, but right now he’s out there like a monster. Every time he steps on the court, it’s about winning. That’s what we all want to do. He’s been going out there just killing everybody who steps in front of him. Some days, I’ll be like, ‘I don’t even want to guard him’ because he’s so big and so strong and makes all kind of crazy flip-shots and turnaround jumpers and stuff."

Now, this is the type of thing I've been waiting to hear all off season.

Young did say he didn't know how it would go in the regular season, but Brand looks great right now.

I think Young means how it'll go from a team basis.

No, he was talking specifically about Brand.

Good to hear they are fired up for the season. I have read more than in past years of huys working on their games- esp with the coaches.

And just joking, but I'd rather not see Thad and Brand guarding each other. I don't want Thad to break something, while Brand might tweak something trying to stay in front of Thad. Let Brand and Speights go at it.

Noticed that too. hopefully this isn't just the sixers pr machine trying to make us forget that this team hasn't improved one iota on paper. Still, its nice to hear this considering we've only had a handful of draft picks/players fully develop for a long time
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

Brand on Dalembert: "I like Sam. He’s a center. We have Dwight Howard in our division. We have Shaquille O’Neal in our conference. I’m 6-9, he’s 7-foot. He needs to be there and guard those guys. Or Marreese Speights. I can definitely do it, but that’s not my primary responsibility. Offense is easy because you’re quicker and you can shoot. Defensively, with Shaquille O’Neal, maybe Sam can be ready to guard these guys. If not, we need Mo Speights or one of these guys to be ready."

He's been playing here. Ed Stefanski says nothing but good things about him, though he is 19 and only played one year -- as a shooting guard -- in college.

That's one of the questions about the Sixers.

Tom: And I know why. From what I've been able to see. Kid has the complete package. Dude averaged 4.5 APG as a 2 guard I believe. That shows his playmaking abilities. He's a natural playmaker. ESPECIALLY on the break.

He can make those passes like threading the needle or a bounce pass. He can dictate the tempo of the break. He's a solid shooter that can develop.

Honestly, with his speed and athleticism and strength, he'll be a COMPLETE player in the league. Tom, he has da tools. Not since Allen Iverson have we had a prospect from the guard position this good.

Are there any improvements you've noticed in our players, skillwise and physically?

How's Marreese Speight's physique or has Thad really improved his ballhandling skills like advertised? :D

What are the things you've noticed? :D
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

I haven't seen them scrimmage yet -- just heard what Ed Stefanski and Thaddeus Young have said about guys. Camp starts Tuesday, so I'll be able to give you a better idea then.

Brand on Andre Miller: "He’s a great player. He really won a lot of ballgames for us. In coach (Eddie) Jordan’s system, the spacing is going to open it up for everybody because Lou can hit the 3-pointer, he can drive – no one can stay in front of him. He’s not a post-up guard, which Andre Miller was."

Hey Tom, any chance we give McClinton a camp invite? While 'the last thing we need is another small guard'... he can really light it up from outside, and really he could play (someday) next to a big PG in Jrue without us giving up to much defensively.

Call a spade, a spade. You can call Andre Miller a great player. But the key players were Andre Iguodala and Thaddeus Young.

No way we make the playoffs without those two guys peaking as they did at the same time last year.

Well it looks like Thad continues to bulk up. Look at him next to Brand, he is no longer a skinny kid:
