Tom:

Why is Eddie Jordan not in trouble right now? Of our 5 wins, two were close wins against the Nets, and one was against the Knicks. We only have one real quality win this season - our home opener against the Bucks (a team that would probably beat us right now). Looking at the gate last night, it looks like the AI-lovefest lasted exactly one game...Philadelphia sports fans know EXACTLY why Iverson was signed, and do not want to give Comcast ONE PENNY MORE until they put a good product on the floor.

The Roberts boys and Ed Snider are frustrated that people are not turning out, but given the product that is on the floor right now (led by Jordan), if you were to ask them why fans should spend serious money to see this team, what would their answer be? Does Comcast/Snider think that the fans do not see how much of a disaster the Jordan signing was? Do they think that serious Sixers fans don't know that that whole "open checkbook" thing that Stefanski said he had was a bunch of crap, and that the $2 million subsidy from the Wizards was as much of a factor in Jordan's hiring as anything basketball-related?

And at what point will the media start focusing on Jordan's job security in a bigger way?

Talked to Brad Greenberg last March. He's coaching at Radford in North Carolina and his team made the NCAAs last year as the 16th seed, only to lose to No. 1 UNC 101-58. Nice guy, but was overmatched and didn't know how to make a trade as Sixers GM for his one season (with Johnny Davis as coach).

Iverson is sixth among G on Eastern Conference all-star ballot (now on Eastern electronic ballot after signing with Sixers -- is in West on paper ballot). Iguodala is seventh among F (Brand not in top 11) and Dalembert is 12th among C (12 on ballot).

"Meet the new boss...same as the old boss..."

(that probably applies more to Davis than Greenberg, but I see the 2009-10 brain trust of the Sixers - as a group - as inept a duo as Greenberg/Davis - hopefully they ony last a year as well)

Did you see that Jordan is planning to play Iverson and Williams together when Williams returns in mid- to late January?

In three of their last six defeats during the Sixers' 11-game losing streak, they had a chance to take the lead in the closing seconds. Each time, Andre Iguodala missed a jump shot, including a 3-pointer in Wednesday's 90-86 home loss to the Pistons.

Tells me you should be trying to get to the rim.

Exactly. Sixers are shooting too many jumpers, though they've been better from 3-point land in the last three weeks.

Not to question EJ again, but he obviously promotes this style of play or there would be a few timeouts here and there to change things up, adjustments at halftime, efforts during practice to change things up, etc. This is a jump shooting team right now, which unfortunately is not exactly filled with shooters, combined with an awful defensive unit, and one that doesn't rebound that well to boot. It's the perfect storm.

Keep shooting Andre!

Tom, have you been watching any Kentucky basketball lately?

Iguodala is shooting 38.9% overall and 33.3% from three point range over the last ten games. The only players who are not shooting worse than Iguodala are Primoz Brezec, Royal Ivey, and Rodney Carney along with Iverson. The first three have played the least amount of minutes over that time.

The last two games, Iguodala has shot 17 three point attempts. This is bothersome to me.

It's bothersome to anyone who expects good play from the shooting guard position. The words Iguodala and Shooting Guard don't mix, we can play Iggy at the 2 and Thad at the 3 for the entire season and we'll still see that miserable result.

Just trade Iggy for young pieces, and cut your losses.

I don't care IF the Sixers turn this 11 game losing streak to a 30 game losing streak, and DO end up winning the lottery,,,there is ZERO, and I mean ZERO Chance they even sniff at John Wall. Not with a 6ft, Lou Williams who is now easily a top-10 guard in the league. And with Holiday, a player who is
WAY better than Wall will ever be. Philly MIGHT deal down. But if they stay at # 1, Wall WON'T be the pick. I'll bet ANYONE on that right now!!

No Way they pass on Wall if they get the first pick!!!! He is by far the best player in the draft.

Weren't you the one who told me the other day Wall wasn't a top 5 recruit by either superprep or rivals? why didn't you respond to that?

I'll go find it if you want.

If you get a shot at Wall you just make it work. Like when the Raps already had Villaneuva and Bosh fell to them.

Wall is ridiculously talented. He's "Iverson-quick" in a much bigger body.

If that does happen, I would hope that Lou has a great year so we can deal him for a legit 2 guard.

Seriously, EJ gives us a good shot at 1 or 2 this year, you take the BPA and make your team work around them.
