As a fan, would you rather have:

Amare at 18M-22M /yr for the next 4 years

or Iguodala+Speights for 15M-18M /yr for the next 4 years

Personally I would go with Iguodala + Speights, altjhough Jrue/Amar would be great on the P&R.

I would rather have Amare because we have been through even of Iguodala to see his strengths and his weaknesses. We know that Iguodala will not lead us to a championship and we put ourselves in a position that we can't do much adding to the roster. So trading for a athletic big who could dominate in the East for the next 4 years while giving our roster focus would be nice. By focus I mean having defined roles for the player we want to succeed. Jrue, Thad and Brand should all benefit from a trade like this.

I would not put Speights in any Iggy deal. Speights and the ist round pick stays in Philadelphia.

I would rather just have Speights. Trade Iggy for Amare and use him as an expiring or a trade piece for players that fit better.

Takin Speights & Iggy - the 76ers do one thing very well and thats trade for bigs with injury issues. The worst kind of contract is the one where the player deosent play.

If we get Amare can we even keep Amare? This sounds more like a 6 month rental to me.

Also, where would Amare fit on this team considering we stll have Brand and Delambert?

As a Suns' fan i'd love Iggy coming back here. I've heard of few of you say he's a great defender. Is that true, we could really use one on the perimeter to protect Nash.

speights should not be moved (unless cp3 is on the block).

I think Iggy is an overrated defender. They always go on and on how he plays against the other teams best player when that is not the case at all. He's good in the open court and a willing passer. He is not a very good jump shooter and has a ego that it's a wonder he fits into the building every night. He shows up his teamates from time to time on the court.

Complaining about Iguodala's presumably bad ego and at the same time featuring an Iverson signature. Makes perfect sense.

Iguodala and Speights for Amare would not be quite that bad if Amare's deal would not be expire. That would be at least a deal where we get some value back for Iguodala.

Yeah well Andre has wet dreams of being half the player Iverson ever was and doing half the things he did for this team in his prime.

well im not really a sixer fan but i would say amare would be a better choice..my main reason is he simply seems more passionate then iggy does. iggy is a baby..he hads an "im a star" attitude and he is lazy and inconsistent. being in phoenix i see amare more and he just seems like he wants to win. speights is coming along and think he will be good..but i think amare and dalembert (if dalembert continues to play like he is) is a nice lil combo...speights off the bench can play both the 4 & 5 spot so minutes wont be hard to come by. that leaves eb..and since im a eb fan..i really want him traded outta philly. i cant stand the people upstairs and the main one on the sidelines. so im hoping for a iggy brand to phx..yes there is some selfishness in there for him to play here..but i think nash..iggy..brand..is a nice little core..with nash running the show of course both iggy and brand would benifit..my 2 cents

My issue is that I'd only want Amar'e if Iggy is still here. Ideally in a trade that centers around Speights and Williams + protected first + salaries to match for a 3 year extended Amar'e.

They would end up over the cap with those 3 players alone... in 2 years: Amare(20M)+Brand(17M)+Iguodala(15M) = 52M... and you would still not be a contender.

Iguodala/Speights

Stoudemire's history of injuries, lack of defense/rebounding make him far less appealing. Speights has solid potential to be a good PF in this league if he manages to improve his defense/rebounding. Iguodala is what he is, but he has a much better all around game than Amare.

The only way I want Stoudemire on this team is if we can move Brand simultaneously (or in a separate deal). I cringe at the thought of Brand/Amare at PF/C for some reason. I'd also prefer to keep Dalembert or get someone to defend the C spot if we are to acquire Stoudemire.

You can't say we wouldn't be a contender. Unless you know where everybody in FA is going, if anyone is going to get hurt, how we will draft, etc.

By the way, Iggy doesn't make 15 million until his player option year. 2013 / 2014?

This shouldnt even be a legit argument. Speights is just as productive as Stoudemire he just doesnt get the minutes Stoudemire does. And then add in Iguodala too? not even close. Iguodala/Speights is a lot better than Stoudemire.

Stoudemire: 34.5min 20.6pts, 8.3reb, 0.96blks
Speights: 18.3min, 10.1pts, 4.6reb, 0.65blks

half the minutes, half the stats

Per 48 min:
Stoudemire: 28.7pts, 11.5reb, 1.33blks
Speights: 26.4pts, 12.2reb, 1.69 blks

Give speights the minutes and you have amare stoudemire with a different name.

Give speights 48 minutes and he'll foul out...
