Two ABSOLUTE SCREAMERS from Son!!!
I have 0 idea how he was unmarked on each goal, but whatever.

Glad Lamela got the goal, he had a good game just couldn't finish. Nice, calm finish on the goal though. Love seeing Son get two.

Lamela looked rather unhappy after Son's second goal haha.

Don't care about the quality of the goals as long as he keeps them coming.

There were some plays with Toby/Jan early on that had me concerned, but the Belgians have meshed quickly and we aren't as bad defending aerial balls as I thought we would be.
Add in that since the Man U game Dier has been playing tremendous (for what he does...still doesn't offer a ton past the middle third) and we've got a stout D. For a club like ours I think starting with improvements to the back 4 is our best bet for altering trajectory in the coming seasons. Good to see it working out.
Feel me SON!?

Re: Official Tottenham Hotspur Thread
Dier is my favourite player right now. Man is 21 and plays with a toughness this club hasn't seen in years.
I was wrong to criticise the decision to move him to DM, he's made the role his own. He also rotates and slots into the back four well when Toby or Verts go on one of those marauding runs forward.

Meh, he's looked good against tinpot opposition.
He was the worst player on the pitch at Old Trafford. Let's see how he does if he plays tonight. Dont know how strong a team Pochettino will pick.
Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, Kevin Garnett, Toni Kroos, Pep Guardiola, Ernst Happel, Joachim Löw.

Everton and Palace are tinpot?
Bentaleb was also far worse against United than Dier, though I agree that he didn't perform well either.

Even Özil looked like a world beater against Palace this season.

Re: Official Tottenham Hotspur Thread
I think Dier is perfect for his role and reminds me a lot of what a traditional CDM is supposed to do - hustle back on defense, disrupt passing lanes and make hard tackles. It's a plus that he's big enough to make a difference on set pieces, but his passing and overall offensive skill is meh - I'd say it is several cuts below Jan.
Dier may be our best player at this point by default due to all of the injuries, **** form and late transfers.

Vertonghen is starting to look like himself again with Dier properly shielding the back four.
Great game yesterday. Top marks for Lamela and Dier, but it was a good all-around performance, from Hugo to N'Jie. Probably the best we've performed since Chelsea on New Year's Day. Take out the silly bookings and minor concentration lapses and it would've been perfect.

Kane and Alli have been added to the England squad for games against Estonia and Lithuania.
Dele could get his first senior cap!
Disappointed that Dier couldn't get in and Walker probably deserved a call too.
