Top of the table. :wave:

high doubtful but im sure you watch plenty of Serie A right?

They have Ogbonna/Caceres & Barzagli at CB who would walk into most other Serie A teams starting XIs.
Losing Pogba would certainly hurt them as it puts even more weight on the shoulders of Andrea but not to the point where they can't even win games anymore.

They would drop a couple points here and there but certainly not fall apart like Roma who struggle to win games since January and still sit in 2nd position.

Any thoughts on why that midfield doesn't work better for them? I think Medel's a good tough holder and the trio of Guarin, Hernanes and Kovacec is a strong set of 8s to play in front of him. Just looking at the names on the squad sheet that should be the strength of the team and what drives their play.

I have no idea why they don't perform better. Some games they look amazing, other games they look like they've never played together before.
I think one thing may be that they have midfielders who all prefer the same role in Hernanes, Kovacic, and Shaqiri. I could be mistaken about Shaqiri cause I don't know enough about his preferences but Hernanes and Kovacic both are best in an advanced role in the center behind the strikers, but are asked to play more like Guarin does. They may need to get more creative with their formations.

Has Kovacec not developed into a 6 like it looked like he would earlier in his career? I would've imagined that Kovacec as the deep playmaker, Guarin the vertical CM, and Hernanes as the most advanced midfielder would fit very naturally, with Medel as a hardman alternative when they play more on the counter and need a DLP less.

As for Shariqi he has played in the ten, but his game is that of a goal scoring winger/second forward like Robben or Aguero rather than as a midfielder. So I don't think he should overlap with them too much if he's being used right, which would be playing off of Icardi like Tevez and Morata did today for Juve.

thanks for the info on Shaqiri. As for Kovacic, I'm not convinced he can be too effective as a 6...mostly because around the edge of the box he has looked lethal this year. Deeper he has made some costly mistakes on the defensive end. but still he has the potential to become good at both rolls, time will tell.

this becomes the question now after people were trying to hate on Allegri all season lol. But it is a question I do not have an answer to.

Seems like a more balanced team. Better offensively than Conte's team

I think Morata is the biggest reason for this. No one was saying so in group stage when he wasn't quite settled into the squad yet. Him and Tevez are the striker pair Juve has been waiting for for years now.
Juve have learned from their mistakes suffered when Conte was the coach.
Allegri is a great and experienced coach. When he was hired I feared he'd try to change too much but he's allowed all the players to play to their strengths and has been able to alternate between the 3-5-2 and 4-4-2 with ease

It's certainly a more flexible team. They can adjust their shape now and they rely less on Pirlo.

this is true. relying less on Pirlo is inevitable as he's aged quite a bit. He was easily still a top player in the world his first season at Juve, but as he ages Pogba becomes closer to GOAT status 8-)

This team is so pathetic even the Curva Sud abandoned them. I'm not sure if it's the right decision but Rudi will almost assuredly be sacked soon.

The Curva seems to still be behind Rudi, right? I find that interesting if it's true.

i cant remember what it said but they hung something up in support of him, that is true.

i am starting to think that firing Rudi might not be that great of an idea but surely something needs to change or we will lose our CL spot which will be devastating. at this rate we will fall out of the top 3.

my biggest problem with rudi is that he doesnt care about form or playing young players. Verde was MOTM one game and involved in all of the goals his second game, yet gets benched for Gervinho who has been awful since coming back from AFCON. Pjanic and De Rossi both continue to play as well despite being super useless.

i just dont understand it anymore, we went from being scudetto contenders and 1 game away from CL knockout rounds to this trash. ive never seen anything like it, and ive been seriously disappointed by this team before.

squad for Bulgaria qualifier and England friendly:

Gk: Buffon (Juventus), Perin (Genoa), Sirigu (Paris Saint Germain);

D: Barzagli (Juventus), Bonucci (Juventus), Chiellini (Juventus), Moretti (Torino), Ranocchia (Inter);

M: Antonelli (Milan), Bertolacci (Genoa), Candreva (Lazio), Cerci (Milan), Darmian (Torino), Florenzi (Roma), Marchisio (Juventus), Parolo (Lazio), Pasqual (Fiorentina), Soriano (Sampdoria), Valdifiori (Empoli), Verratti (Paris Saint Germain);

F: Eder (Sampdoria), Gabbiadini (Napoli), Immobile (Borussia Dortmund), Pellé (Southampton), Vazquez (Palermo), Zaza (Sassuolo)

I'd like to see something like this, at least to get the job done vs Bulgaria:
Buffon
Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini
Candreva, Marchisio, Verratti, Bertolacci, Darmian
Gabbiadini Immobile

So Inter wants to get rid of Podolski already?

He's a mediocre player and only shines if the system is based totally around him but what the hell? How about giving a new player half a season to adapt before he is thrown under the bus? :lol:
