Yeah, not a bad group I think, besides the massive amount of travelling we're gonna have to do. Everton definitely got it worse than us in terms of team difficulty. Don't underestimate Partizan though, they have a ferocious fanbase, our away fixture there will be difficult.

Seriously. This stadium is crazy right now.
Deafening.

Didn my catch the match but looks like the ref robbed Gladbach of a blatant at the end of the match that would've won it. Given Raffael and Hahn started on the bench and they have the derby this weekend, a draw with their top rival for the group isn't a bad result, though starting off with a win wouldn't've obviously been much more desireable. Luckily the other two teams in the group seem clearly of a lower caliber.

Everton-Wolfsburg is pretty entertaining for a EL game.

A penalty that was clearly outside the penalty area and a blatant offside goal for Everton. The game wasnt as one sided as thw result looks but Heckings game approach was once again pretty terrible.
I dont know how you can go to Everton and expect to dictate the game. Wolfsburg shouldve been way more defensive minded but thats something they wont learn anymore under Hecking.

Wolfsburg creating a lot of chances of their own and still losing how they did just highlights their failures I putting the squad together. If they had a quality finisher and could secure themselves in defense they could've won that match since their midfield did a solid job, but they just can't take heir chances or restrict any going the other way. I also think perisic/caligiuri can be improved, but that's far less important. Dunno where they re going to get that CB and ST they need if they couldn't bring anyone of quality in this past summer when they had so much momentum and that 100M warchest. I'd imagine they try and reignite their pursuit of Dede for defense and daestro for the attack but will they be able to interest those players? A mussachio would be absolutely perfect for them and alongside one of the young German goalies would let them play possession higher up the pitch, but without the CL will he even consider joining them?

Given the funds at their disposal maybe they can pull away someone from a Russian club like doumbia or Kokorin, or maybe they just pay over the eArs for Jackson Martinez, but they seemed to have a lot of trouble on the transfer front convincing the kind of guys they need and can afford to actually join them. And with no CL next season without significant winter reinforcements it doesn't seem like it'll become any more likely next summer.

Will be watching my Foals, as usual, visiting Lucien Favres former team FC Zurich.

With the injuries(Kramer, Raffael, Johnson) the starting XI will probably look like this.

---------------------------Hrgota--------Kruse-------------------------

-Traoré-------------------------------------------------------Hahn----

---------------------------Xhaka------Nordtveit-----------------------

-Dominguez----------Jantschke--------Stranzl------------Korb-

----------------------------------Sommer-------------------------------

Hope we can get an important win to solidify our chances of going through.

Nordtveit with a great goal, but you couldn't really see it because of the f**** pyrotechnics. I hate that s*** so much.

Lloris is unreal. Bailing the defence out time and time again.

Vlad looks like dog **** - a step slow on everything. Once Walker gets healthy (no clue when that is) I'd rather Dier provide spot help at CB.

Since when does Lloris have a neck tattoo?

It's probably the neck tattoo that is fuelling the recent brilliance.

How long until Kane starts in the league? He's been much better than both Ade and Soldado so far this season.

Gladbach really did a poor job of exploiting Zürichs left side in the second half. One more foul and Djimsiti wouldve been sent off but for 35 of the 40 minutes played in half 2 so far they played on their own left side.
