I know how you feel. A London rival will be winning a trophy in any eventuality, so it's a bit of a pickle for Arsenal fans. When two teams I hate play I tend to veer on the side of wanting an immediate meteor impact in the vicinity of the stadium. I'd be there at the point of impact to high-five it.

I'm glad you consider us a lesser evil than Chelsea, though.

What a final that was. Funny thing is that they met few days after in the league at the Lane and i think it finished 4-4. And Woodgate scored again in that game.

Nope, perhaps I'm not a local I don't really see what's big about North London rivalry (No offense Spurs fans). Although Arsenal are closer to Tottenham than Chelsea in recent years Chelsea is the big thing. I'd rather Tottenham win it than Chelsea. I kinda feel more positive about them in general too, compared to most teams out there.

And yeah, that was a great final. Woody burying that header is one of my fondest Spurs memories. Nobody really gave us a hope of winning it, either.

Yeah, North London Derby is weird.

It's not working class vs upper class or right wing vs left wing whatever.

You could say there's something with religion though. Spurs is historically known as a "jewish club"(they call their players Yids or Yiddos) while Arsenal have a lot of Muslim fans(in London and rest of the world)

Arsenal moving from Woolwich to North London in 1913 is what sparked it. Some Spurs fans call them 'the nomads' even now. They then got promoted via dubious means to the first division at Tottenham's expense, supposedly with Arsenal's chairman bribing the committee. The rest is just proximity, I think, I don't think there's any religious motivation in the rivalry. Most of this is probably lost on foreign fans, so I don't blame them for disliking a team as overtly vomitous as Chelsea more.

As brt says the North London rivalry doesn't resonate with me as much as others probably cause im not a local. I mean I'll always want spurs to lose but Jose has all the hate in my heart right now lol.

That was top bins, how Cudicini saved that is still a mystery to me considering how every shot was going in. Even Keane scored a screamer

The best thing about the League Cup Final was when the ref ended the game just when Kalou had a massive chance to equalize.

We all knew Avram Grant would get sacked when they lost that final. Even if Terry hadnt slipped in Moscow.
