Top 10 Most Fun teams to watch (all-time)

Post#1 » by Effercon » Wed Jun 3, 2015 12:59 pm

Idea taken from the basketball board.

For me, in no particular order (and fudging some of the dates, but you know what I mean by them):

Portugal 1999-2004
Belgium 2013-now
Borussia Dortmund 2010-12
Barcelona 2005-10
Real Madrid 2001-04
AC Milan 1988-94
Netherlands 1996-2000
Brazil 1998-2002
Ajax 1970-74
West Germany 1972-77

Belgium really don't belong, neither do the galacticos, klopp's Dortmund or brazil 98-2002.

Pele's Brazil, Netzer's gladbach, the european threepeat winning Bayern, cruyff's dutch, and platini's france are much better choices.

Belgium are boring as hell. Brazil were boring in 2002 despite their names.

I didnt watch those Ajax and German teams in 70s, so I will just take the modern era:

1. Barcelona 2008-2012
2. Ajax 1994-96
3. AC Milan 1988-1993
4. Germany 2010
5. Real Madrid 2000-2004
6. Leverkusen 2001-2002
7. Dortmund 2010-2013
8. Arsenal 2002-2004
9. Roma 2000-2001
10. Newcastle 1995-1996

Bayern under Heynckes and Spain from 2008-2012 were maybe the best teams, but they werent that entertaining, just very effective.
Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, Kevin Garnett, Toni Kroos, Pep Guardiola, Ernst Happel, Joachim Löw.

Any team Tony Pulis ever managed.
No midfielders needed just seven defenders and three tall offensive players chasing those long balls...

Anyways:
I liked the 2014/15 version of Borussia Mönchengladbach
Bayer Leverkusen in the early 2000's with all those brazilian players and Bernd "Schnix" Schneider
Barca under Pep
Arsenal with Bergkamp and Henry playing up front
Netherlands 1998(Bergkamp again)
Sweden 1994(Henrik Larsson/Martin Dahlin)
...

Milan 04-07
Arsenal 07-08
United 07-09
Villarreal 08-11
Barcelona 08-12
Spain 08-12
Bilbao 11-12
Fiorentina 12-13
Chile 09-11/12-?
any team that has Oezil in it.

Top 10 Most Fun teams to watch (all-time)

Ronaldinho's Barcelona were probably the most fun team to watch. Lots of creative players (Xavi, Deco, Ronaldinho, Eto'o, even the likes of Edmilson and Van Bommel could Make beautiful long passes) willing to gamble on big plays.

Brazil 98, 82 and 70 were fun. Argentina 90 was fun. Any Netherlands team pre 2006 was fun to watch. Germany 2010. Spain 2008.

Klopp's Dortmund imo belongs here. High pressure, high pace always belong when it comes to excitement. Man Utd 2007-2008 was great to watch.

2012 Madrid, best counterattacking team ever. Transitions were Godly to watch.

2010 Chelsea was pretty fun. Ancelotti actually used their S-Class weapons like Lamps and Drog to their full potential, those two guys alone scored 51 in the league and Chelsea scored 103.

I liked the Milan team with Ibra, Pato, Ronaldinho and Robinho, for whatever little time the four played together.

And last but certainly not least Arsenal in 2009-11 when Fabregas and RvP were healthy

Jardel was right after but we still played very good football under Lucescu.

96-00 we had taffarel-Popescu-Hagi-Hakan Sukur. We won the uefa cup without losing a game.

It should have been 4-2. Jardel's goal was fair but asst ref gave an offside.
